Tu as modifié ton fichier /etc/apt/sources.list non? Copie le ici, je pense que le problème est dedans, aux alentours de la ligne 51 je dirais ;)

Et bien Synaptic vous indique clairement qu'il y a une erreur à la ligne 51 dans son fichier des sources. Donc il ne pourra pas faire de mis à jour de sa base d'application.
Vous avez surement modifié ce fichier.
Ce fichier c'est /etc/apt/sources.list

Edite le en root, supprime le "rse" à la fin du fichier, et enregistre, puis fait un
Dis moi si ça marche.
apt-get update

Comme pour éditer un fichier texte, tu l'ouvre, puis tu supprimes les 3 caractère a la fin.
