Hello,
a friend just bought an HP PHOTOSMART C4400 printer and after plugging it in, he had to choose the language through a menu - he selected Europe thinking it would be French and confirmed with OK - The problem is that everything is in English! and above all, it’s impossible to change it.
I tried to help him by searching for the menu but couldn't find it!
Do we not have the right to make a mistake with HP ??????
Could someone tell me how to find the menu that appeared during the initial setup ???
We tried unplugging and plugging it back in, but this initial menu never came back!
Of course, there is no menu button on the printer!!!
Help help help and thanks in advance for any information.

Here is the solution:
1- Press “Cancel” & “Power On/Off” simultaneously; a message Enter Special Key combo will appear on the screen.
2- Press “Scan” (blue), “Color Copy” (green), “Black Copy” (grey) in sequence.
3- The message "Service RL00XX" will be displayed.
4- Scroll to “Reset Menu”, and press “OK”
5- Scroll to “Country/Language Reset” and press “OK”
6- The printer will turn off, turn it on by pressing the “Power On/Off” button: a prompt will ask you to select the language
NB: To scroll in the Support Menu, use “Scan” (up) or “Black Copy” (down). To confirm a choice, use “Color Copy” (OK)
Christian Dion: I searched the web but didn't find the answer, I saw that other people were asking the same question.
Christian Dion: Yes, but how to start since my printer is in English, I must have made a mistake.
Firdaousse: use the manipulation above to switch it back to French
Firdaousse: is it done?
Christian Dion: I don't have the message RLOOXX but something else
Firdaousse: scroll with the blue button
Christian Dion: I couldn't manage, I will start over because it's still in English
Firdaousse: ok, first press “Cancel” & “Power On/Off” at the same time
Firdaousse: then press the buttons “Scan” (blue), “Color Copy” (green), “Black Copy” (grey), one after the other
Christian Dion: ok, it's working.

Hey, it's simple!
Just uninstall the printer and all its components, then put the installation CD back in, redo the installation, and you'll get back to your language selection menu!

Hello everyone, very good question, I experienced the same thing as ZEZETTEDU17's friend, I saw Europe, and didn't see the rest, I uninstalled the printer, I did it twice, but just for your information, the printer menu is separate, since I did it nothing was plugged in...... anyway, while waiting for a solution, everything can be done via the PC program since it's in French; but it's true that it’s a bit annoying for people who don't master English; but if there is a solution, I’m interested, and thanks in advance!! And have a nice day.
Hi everyone.
I found the solution on an English-speaking forum.
Make sure your two cartridges are properly filled (black AND color).
In fact, I had just changed my black cartridge, thinking it was empty. Then I printed the alignment page and it wasn't detected by the scan. The page is not detected when it doesn't have the necessary color touches for the alignment process. I changed my color cartridge which was also empty, and after printing the alignment page in color, it was finally detected by the scan!
Hoping this helped some of you...

Press "Cancel" (the red cross) and "Power" simultaneously
- A message enter Special Key combo will appear on the screen.
- Press "black copy" (gray), "scan" (blue), "color copy" (green) in sequence.
- The message "service RL00XX" will appear or << service rhLxFN0810CR >>.
- Scroll down to "Reset Menu" using "scan" (blue), and press "OK"
- Scroll down to "Country/Language Reset" using "scan" (blue) and press "OK"
- The printer will turn off, turn it back on by pressing the "Power" button. Wait a moment and a prompt will ask you to select the language
NB: To scroll in the Support Menu, use "scan" (up) or "black copy" (down). To confirm a choice, use "color copy" or (OK)
I followed the steps correctly, but once the error code is displayed, I don't have "reset menu." What should I do?
Thank you.
for the C4500 and it also works, have a nice day.
