HP Photosmart Printhead Alignment

Question

Hello,
I replaced the cartridges in my HP PHOTOSMART printer, and the screen displays the message “cartridge alignment failed,” directing me to the user manual.
However, the manual doesn’t provide any further information. I carefully removed the cartridges and reinserted them, but nothing works. The print page shows that the cartridges are not aligned.
Printing my documents is possible, but I’m afraid it might damage the print head... I should specify that I am indeed using genuine HP cartridges and not compatible ones...

To bypass the alignment and the failure message, here’s a simple action to take on the printer: Press and hold the Setup button, then press the Enter button.

Hello,

I’m joining the discussion a year later because my HP printer asks me to print an alignment page every time I start it.

1 color page wasted each time I start it. To avoid this, I remove all the blank sheets from the printer and press cancel.

It works, but I lose 1 minute every time I start it.

I don’t have a setup button on the printer.

Any ideas to permanently cancel this automatic alignment?

Good evening
A workaround that seems to work on many HP printers (you didn't give us the model) having the same problem:
Let the printer print this test page, then place this sheet on the scanner glass and scan.

I have the same problem. I suspect HP of intentionally putting this error in place to empty our cartridges and force purchases. Long live printer software hackers. We should discourage buying HP. For me, never again this crap. They're thieves. Never do a software update because that's when they install it. My printer was working perfectly fine even with generic cartridges, and since the update it’s done for. In fact, they install a spy in the printer's motherboard, that's what I think of these crooks. A word to the wise, goodbye!!!!

I too have just discovered that every time I turn on the HP Photosmart C3100 printer, I have the printhead alignment.
Until now, I only had it when I installed a new cartridge.
I never do software updates, so why this change?
I am convinced, like you, that HP is draining our cartridges.

How can I remove the alignment test at every startup???

I am not the only one asking this question, so who will find the solution?

Hello, I have a big problem with my HP Photosmart A526 printer. I haven't used it for a while, and yesterday when I tried to print photos, it printed blank pages. I tried to do the alignment, but it also came out as blank pages, and it says failure, refer to the notice which is not in French. I don't know what to do.
