M6 Replay is not working, it's bugging! Solved/Closed

Hello,
For about 15 days now, I can no longer watch programs on M6 replay; the loading never finishes. Before that, it worked perfectly, but other sites like TF1's are working. Can you help me??? Thank youConfiguration: Windows XP

Hi,

As mentioned earlier, M6 has decided to switch its video player to Flash. Previously, we had a Windows Media Player type player. The advantage of the Flash player is that it is compatible with Mac OS, which is a plus for our friends on Mac.

On the other hand, many people in my circle have noticed some problems:
- The player gets stuck on "Loading" without ever starting the video
- Streaming is much less effective than before

I have been given some solutions:
- Test the site with different browsers -- for me, it doesn't work on IE either
- Test the site on another PC -- on my girlfriend's PC, it works very well
- Uninstall / reinstall Flash Player -- persistent issue
- Clear the caches / temp files in IE and Firefox -- same

Hi, don't worry, it's normal because M6 had the GREAT idea to replace the old system with Windows Media with a flash player. The problem is that Flash doesn't load the video if you pause it; it loads gradually. It's really crap, this site now...

Hello,

It's the HOST file that is blocking M6replay and freezing the loading. c:\windows\system32\drivers\etc
You must have replaced it some time ago. If that's the case, you should have a backup of your old HOST in the same directory. Rename the HOST backup to HOST after making a backup of the HOST to be replaced (you never know). Restart the computer, it should work.

Hello everyone, I also had the issue with M6Replay loading being stuck. Just like some IE and Firefox users.
I updated Adobe Flash and... nothing...
So I looked into the "hosts" file mentioned above and indeed the problem was there.
I have the version of the file with 26,000 listed addresses and while searching, I found the M6 stream server:

C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc\hosts (open it with notepad)

127.0.0.1 ad.fr.doubleclick.net

This line means that this address is automatically blocked; you just need to add a # in front of it:

#127.0.0.1 ad.fr.doubleclick.net

I also took the opportunity to make other improvements to the file if anyone wants mine... I would like to share it with you but I don't know how. Good luck ;-)

I have a problem: in the hosts file, I only have "127.0.0.1" and not anything else! So does your method work in this case? Because I wouldn't want to mess up my computer.

Well, the thing with the hosts file worked for me for one day, but then it stopped working. So I created a blank hosts file, but that didn't change anything either. I've updated all my programs (WMP11, Flash, etc.), and the DRM is clean too. I don't understand, help please, because it worked perfectly before they made their updates!!!

Good evening everyone  It finally works for me by doing this: (I am using Mozilla and Windows XP Home)  I added a line in the hosts file:  127.0.0.1 m6replay.fr  Then I pressed enter several times to add blank lines, closed and saved the hosts file and restarted m6 replay and it worked!!!  Out of curiosity, I deleted this line, saved again and restarted my computer. After this restart, it still works!  So I don’t understand much, but it works now!! Maybe it was just a matter of adding blank lines in this hosts file, but IT professionals might be able to provide the real explanation so I can understand better!  Happy viewing everyone

Hello again, so I'm not very bright with computers but here’s what I managed to understand from this file,
basically it's a "firewall" file that allows you to directly block or speed up the desired sites:

127.0.0.1 www.m6replay.fr (this line blocks the site)
#127.0.0.1 www.m6replay.fr (this one unblocks it)
192.136.30.15 www.m6replay.fr (and this one speeds up access, "192.136.30.15" being the site's IP address)

To obtain the address of a site you want to speed up, open the "command" mode (run --> cmd --> enter)

and type for example: ping www.google.fr

Sending a 'ping' request to www.google.fr [64.233.183.99] with 32 bytes of data:

Reply from 64.233.183.99: bytes=32 time=67 ms TTL=235
Reply from 64.233.183.99: bytes=32 time=59 ms TTL=235
Reply from 64.233.183.99: bytes=32 time=57 ms TTL=235
Reply from 64.233.183.99: bytes=32 time=55 ms TTL=235

Ping statistics for 64.233.183.99:
Packets: sent = 4, received = 4, lost = 0 (loss 0%),
Approximate round trip times in milliseconds:
Minimum = 55ms, Maximum = 67ms, Average = 59ms

To speed up the opening of Google, you simply need to add the following line:

64.233.183.99 www.google.fr

By digging around, I discovered that the site used by M6 to broadcast its videos is ad.fr.doubleclick.net, so:
209.62.179.57 ad.fr.doubleclick.net or
#127.0.0.1 ad.fr.doubleclick.net

I followed what Gyver indicated and it works
in short:

C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc\ there you have the hosts file (open it with notepad)

search for the line containing "ad.doubleclick.net" and put a "#" in front of the corresponding line (in front of 127...)

save and then relaunch your m6Replay site and there you go, it loads.

PS: I didn't have a line containing "M6REPLAY" so I didn't modify anything on that side.

Hello everyone, I solved the problem on my end by disabling Kaspersky's banner protection. Indeed, before the series you want to watch, M6 throws 2 or 3 ads at you, so you have to allow them with your antivirus, otherwise you can't see them and it blocks your download. Bye and see you soon++++

I had the same problem with XP and IE7. I tried everything including modifying the host file without success. Finally, I saw a note about this issue on the M6replay site that advised disabling ad blockers, so I "closed" my antivirus "Kaspersky Internet Security" and it worked.

Hello,  You need to DISABLE the explicit content blocking set up by FIREWALLS - such as Kaspersky, Norton and my Outpost); I have also disabled the protection of IE8 for ads.  Restart IE, and it should work.  See you soon Alexandre

Hello! With M6 Replay, I had the problem of the loading that never ended. I tried several methods and finally by updating Adobe Flash and then disabling the ad pop-up blocker, it works again (although the loading takes a bit longer than before). There you go, I hope this can help.

Hello, I've been unable to access M6 replay for the past few days, while all other catch-up TV sites are working. I haven’t changed anything before this happened. Since then, I followed instructions from a forum and deleted the DRM folder, but there’s no change. My page displays, but the loading just doesn't stop and the wheel keeps spinning, even though it says "finished" at the bottom. It’s the same whether I use Firefox or IE.
