Download driver for sound card

These are sound cards integrated into the motherboard, so:
1) find the exact name of your motherboard
2) look for its technical specifications on the Asus website:
http://france.asus.com/products/mb/mbindex.htm
=> to know the type of southbridge
3) once you have it, download the corresponding driver pack from the site via:
http://www.viaarena.com/default.aspx?PageID=2&OSID=1&CatID=1010
4) install it on your machine ;)

AC 97 driver VIA.sys for VIA AC '97 audio controller for Win XP

If you don't know the name of your SouthBridge, download software like Aida or Sisoft Sandra that will provide information about your computer's contents.

For Win 98, I couldn't find any drivers from VIA, so in my opinion, there's no hope for this old OS.
