Install without being the administrator Closed

Question

Hello to you who takes the time to read my message, I thank you in advance for that :-)!

Here is my problem (actually there are several):

1) We have PCs available, each with a user account and a password. When I want to install software (Winzip, AIM, ...), they refuse me by saying that I need to log in as an administrator to be able to install them. What should I do? I found a few sites that suggested accessing the administrator account using VBS scripts, but those don't work. How should I proceed?

2) P2P downloading software and Java-based chat software also don't work. I heard that a big proxy has been set up that filters a lot. How can I access it and what needs to be modified?

If you REALLY need administrator rights on a PC running Windows XP (or 2000, it's the same), you just need to look for specialized software to remove the Administrator password (it's a super lightweight version of Linux that works by booting the computer with a CD)... I can't remember what it's called, sorry...
But there are risks in doing this, especially for jittery in their company, indeed, once the admin password is erased, you'll be able to set another one, but you won't be able to recover the old one...

You're in the typical case of a protected and managed domain/network; users have restricted rights, and that's normal; administrators need to get some sleep at night

You just need to contact your network administrator and ask him to do it for you. That's his job.

Now, from experience, he won't let you do p2p, that's for sure. Unless he's crazy.

I completely agree with Choubaka. And frankly, if I were an administrator who prohibited all that, even upon request I wouldn't grant rights for either P2P or the installation of software, I would be too afraid of spending my time cleaning up afterwards.

Yes, well I think I should be an admin, but since BNP Paribas are a bunch of idiots, we all have restricted rights even being an admin, and there are stupid issues like modifying the registry that we can't even do. So thanks to Backtrack for providing the passwords and solving more problems to lighten level 3 :)

Ideally, you would need to redirect the ports to bypass the proxy, but I'll give you a very simple solution: take NTR Connect and install it on your PC at home. Then, from the office, go to the NTR Connect website and download it onto your home PC, or you can download it at home first; that will be simpler and much faster. Then, you download it from your home to the office PC, which will bypass all the stupid proxy protections :d but you will still have the problem of not being able to install anything because of GPOs. But!!!! Yes, you can download the BackTrack live CD, which emulates a Linux environment including tons of software like RainbowCrack, etc. Just know that if the security is high, people might come to work one day and take your PC away, lol.

I can't install anything, I'm on Windows Vista Home edition and my dad set an administrator password. The thing is I can't even move my music to a different folder, nor can I install MSN or any games :O so my computer is completely useless (thanks dad...) and I also can't remove the password with a software because I need that code to download it. =_="
