I acquired a Dvico 6500 multimedia hard drive, and I cannot load files (movies, audio, photos) from a Mac running OSX.
Is this normal?
Is there a specific driver for it to work on Mac?
Thank you for your responses.
LCD- Hello,
The hard drive of the Dvico has been formatted in NTFS, you have two solutions on Mac OS X
Reformat it to FAT 32
Applications > Utilities > Disk Utility > Erase > Volume Format > MS-DOS (FAT)
Purchase Paragon Software (30 euros) which allows you to modify an NTFS hard drive on Mac

The TViX only recognizes HDDs in NTFS format. So, it is normal that the firmware of the box does not recognize the HDD, and when it is in external HDD mode (so connected to the computer), it is properly recognized since the firmware has no say.
The solution is therefore to format it in NTFS (which means data loss...). -
I don't know how to do this conversion on a MAC. However, on Windows, Zine61 explained to me how to do it:
" ... The command I used to convert is as follows:
convert x: /fs:ntfs
Of course, you need to replace the "x" with the letter that the external drive takes once connected to the PC.
When a "dos" window opens, you need to provide the name or label of the drive to continue the process. You may be prompted to check for errors. In that case, right-click on the drive in the workstation/tools/check for errors ..."
He also explains that there is no data loss! I'm still cautious and if you use this command line, I recommend making a backup.
Good luck!-

Hello,
I managed to find out how to reformat the HDD on Mac: Applications/Disk Utility/Dvico.
Now my HDD is in 2 partitions, well recognized on the TV, but I don't have sound when playing music or videos that I can see very well.
So help again because I can see in the menu that I am not on mute!!!! Connection to the TV via Component.

Just a reminder, the component connections (blue, red, and green) only transmit the video signal. Therefore, you also need to connect the RCA cable (red and white) for audio.
Additionally, the 3100 model cannot read the audio tracks of a film if they are encoded in WMA. This might be your case. You can check this using Gspot.
Is the sound problem happening with all your movies?-
The sound problem is occurring with all videos (not with MKV but with AVI or MPEG) and all music (MP3) as well.
But indeed, the cable connected consists of three: white, yellow, and red; I haven't connected an additional RCA cable, so I will buy one, try it, and I hope it will solve the problem. I'll keep you updated. Thanks :) -
I own a divico M 3100 U, until now I had connected it to my Sony Bravia TV with the 'yellow, white, and red' cables, the image was good.
I was advised to replace this cable with a YUV/YUV cable "green, blue, and red" in order to achieve excellent image quality. So I did.
I went into the setup to set the HD component out line: off on 1080i.
As a result, the image is blue, how can I fix the issue?
Should I switch to 720i?

For your information, you have connected the composite audio cable (red and white) and video (yellow) and not composite (red, green, and blue).
Your problem.
The .AVI extension is simply a container, meaning the video can be encoded with different formats such as DivX 3, 4, 5, Xvid, H.264, or others, and similarly the audio can be encoded in MP3 (various compression rates), WMA, OGG, or can even contain multiple audio tracks (in which case, it's a BivX).
To return to the problem:
- either the RCA cables (red and white) are faulty, poorly connected, or connected to the wrong inputs (the three RCA must be aligned) on the TV side or the Disk side.
- or in the TViX settings, you have configured the digital output instead of the analog output.-
It's well aligned on both sides: TV and HDD. It's the new cable that was in the HDD box, but I can buy another one.
The sound settings on the HDD are set to analog.
I even tried a connection with composite on the HDD and HDMI on the TV, but the HDD is not detected at all on the corresponding channel!!
Conclusion: I'm buying a new composite cable and a component cable, and I will do tests again!!
Thanks again and see you soon after the tests :) -
