Black screen issue in Assassins Creed Solved

Question

Hello,

I will explain my problem. I just bought the game Assassin's Creed, and after installation, it worked perfectly.

Then, when I tried to play it again the next day, "PROBLEM", when I launch the game, I get a black screen, the computer freezes and I have no choice but to reset the tower.

I had already encountered this problem with other games, but they were pirated games.

I even tried uninstalling and reinstalling the game, but the same thing happens; I can only play it once and then it bugs.

Bizarre. It might be an issue with an outdated driver, but given your hardware configuration, that surprises me, or maybe it’s a virus. You should try reinstalling the sound card or graphics card driver, do a virus scan, you know, the usual stuff.

Hi, other people have had this problem. Disconnect from the internet before playing and see if it works. For some types of bugs, it worked.

I have exactly the same problem as you, I'm also on XP,
I bought the game this weekend, and I couldn't even play for 10 minutes before the screen went black and then it closed the game and it displays like in safe mode, meaning the screen is zoomed in and the colors are weird. And it shows the error code:

AppName: assassinscreed_dx9.exe AppVer: 1.0.2.1 ModName: assassinscreed_dx9.exe
ModVer: 1.0.2.1 Offset: 006df2f2.

Now it happens after 2 minutes of play (or less).
I uninstalled and reinstalled the game but the problem persists.
I don't really understand, this has never happened with my other games (Crysis, Splinter Cell, ..).

So if someone has the same problem as me and was able to fix it ..

1GB of memory
AMD Athlon(tm) 64 X2 Dual
Core processor 4.600+
GeForce 7.600 GS graphics card

Hello,
I had the same issue with "Assassin's Creed 1" (black screen with sound).
In my case, it is necessary to play with the computer's font size set to minimum. Let me explain, initially the game was working fine on my PC screen, then I wanted to play on the TV, so I increased the font size on the PC to see what was written (control panel, appearance and personalization, display, make text easier to read on the screen) and then when I started the game, I got a black screen, with sound, and couldn't do anything. After racking my brain for a long time, I found that everything went back to normal by selecting:
"control panel, appearance and personalization, display, make text easier to read on the screen => set to small (100% default)"
For me, the problem was solved this way, I hope it will be the same for you and others because I know that many people have this problem and very few solutions are proposed in the forums.

Hello, I think I have the solution to your problem.
My son is playing Resident Evil 4 on PC.
Every time he starts the game, it shows a black screen. My little trick to bring your image back is to simply press ALT+F4 to quit the game, and when it asks if you want to quit or not, click on no!!! Then everything will work......

I have bad news for you, but Assassin's Creed III was not designed to run on XP...
