sound issue with Assassin's Creed

Question

Hello everyone,

I started playing Assassin's Creed and everything was fine until now I no longer have the sound of the dialogues but I still have the ambient sound...

If anyone has any ideas...

You're right, Yevgi, I had that sound problem on XP. I did:
- Control Panel
- Sounds, Speech and Audio Devices
- then Sounds and Audio Devices
- in the "Audio" tab of "Audio Playback" I clicked on "Advanced Settings" then the "Performance" tab and I lowered the hardware acceleration and conversion quality by one notch.
And it works.

I have exactly the same problem except that I also don't have ambient sound but static.  If someone had a solution it would be nice.  Thanks in advance.

Do you have your audio and video drivers updated?
Have you tried downloading the sound file from someone who doesn't have the problem and putting it on your PC?
The weasel always finds everything...ask her and you'll see.

I heard that on XP the problem comes from Windows and that you just need to lower the audio settings...

This sound issue is quite well-known, so much so that in the README file on the Assassin's Creed DVD, it explains in one of the paragraphs how to resolve this small problem.

remedy this, open the Sounds and Audio Devices Control Panel in
Windows, click on the Audio tab, select Advanced Settings,

I buy the game, I install it and everything goes well except that... no sounds, no music, nothing right from the game's launch...
Moreover, when I return to the desktop to listen to music, there's no sound at all.
I then have to restart the computer to get the sound back.
I tried changing the settings mentioned earlier but nothing works...

Everything is here:

On a Windows Vista computer

1. Click on Start

, on Control Panel, on Appearance and Personalization, on Personalization, on Display Settings, and then on Advanced Settings.
2. Click on the Troubleshoot tab, then on Change settings.

If prompted to enter an administrator password or confirm an operation, enter your password, or confirm the operation.
3. Move the Hardware Acceleration slider until it is just one notch to the right of None. This is the baseline acceleration setting.
4. Click OK twice, then close the window.

If the problem is resolved when you move the Hardware Acceleration slider to None or Basic acceleration functions, contact your hardware manufacturer to find out how to obtain and install the latest video driver for your graphics card.

If you have installed the latest video driver for your graphics card and display issues persist when the Hardware Acceleration slider is set to Full, repeat the steps in this article. However, move the Hardware Acceleration slider one notch to the left until the problem no longer occurs.

Ah there it is, I found out how to fix the sound bug in Assassin's Creed for those who have Vista!!

;o)

Just go to the control panel, sound.
You're on the playback tab, click on the speaker device, then configure.

All you have to do is switch to stereo instead of 5.1 or 7.1 and everything will work wonderfully.
