Insert a Word page into a Word document Solved

Question

Hello,

I have a little issue, I created a Word document of about ten pages, and I need to add a Word page that was just sent to me to complete my document. Copying and pasting does not keep my layout and has important consequences on my layout in the document itself.

How can I insert a Word page while keeping the layout of both files intact?

The solution is SIMPLE actually, I just found it!
Open the document in which you want to incorporate a page (from another Word doc)

Outline view
In the ribbon click on view document
The "insert" button then appears just to the right
Click on this "insert" button and select your document to incorporate
Exit outline view
And there you go ;)

This software is really useless on this point!!

It's quite simple, we have a nicely formatted document on one side.
On the other side, another nicely formatted document.

All we ask is for the pages of document 1 to be inserted after document 2, almost as if we printed them and then put them one after the other!!

Not complicated, right?
Well, I challenge anyone to explain to me how to do it. The reward? Maybe a reconsideration of my esteem for Microsoft software!!
There's no need to explain to me that I need to copy and paste while preserving the formatting. This method either doesn't work at all or modifies the layout of one or the other document. I’m talking about the layout (the margins and the like), not the formatting (the font and their size!).

Yet with Excel, exporting and importing a sheet from one workbook to another works very well... But with Word...

Hello,
I think I have the solution to your problem!

1) Place your cursor where you want to insert your new pages.
2) Click on the "Insert" menu.
3) Click on page break.
4) Now all that's left to do is to paste your new data into the blank pages.

Hi,

I'm not going to repeat the nonsense of others (see copy-paste => loss of styles, header...).
So I found a solution that worked for what I needed to do, but it doesn't allow for modifications to the content of the document.

The idea is to make an image of your document but to avoid losing quality (don't do a screenshot). You just need to print your document as a PDF (see PDFcreator), then copy the entire .pdf document (using the snapshot tool) and paste it into the Word document.

That's the makeshift solution I found; otherwise, there's no other way to do it. (Word doesn't allow document import... it's really stupid, but oh well...)

You just need to place your cursor at the bottom of the page, click on "Insert" then on "File" and select the Word document you want to add to your page =D Keep Smile!

I found another method for Word 2007:

In the file where you want to insert the page, insert a blank page where you want the insertion and click on it to make sure the insertion happens here.

Go to the tab: insert -> Object
(select "object" and not "text from a file").

In the "create from file" tab, select the file to insert and validate.

That's the principle, it's up to you to judge.

Word is equal to ####...

It's impossible to copy and paste without the formatting changing..

I have an image and a text to copy and paste onto the next (blank) page, when I do that, everything shifts to the right by at least 1 cm... so the copy-paste is too erratic.. so.. ####...

I found a way to copy my image in the same spot by doing NOT ONE, but TWO page breaks.. when I paste on the second blank page it's fine... but when I want to copy my text, so on this second page, it's chaos... everything shifts again...

A morning spent on formatting that isn’t even finished in Word... long live MICROSOFT WORD 2007!!!

I just found the solution!
Reduce the display of the 2 files so that they appear side by side in 2 windows.
1 - Set the file where you want to copy the sheet to outline mode.
2 - Keep the other file in normal mode and position yourself on a blank sheet.
3 - Then, select the sheet to copy (in outline mode) by clicking on the circle on the left and holding down the mouse button.
4 - Then drag it over to the blank page. I've done several tests and it works!

When you paste your text, a small icon will appear at the end of the pasted text, click on it, choose "keep formatting" and there you go.
