Hello,
I found some information online regarding issues between Windows and EBP software, but nothing specifically about my problem.
I installed EBP association 2008 on an updated XP SP2 machine, in administrator mode. The installation goes smoothly, but when I launch the software, a Windows error message appears:
"Association management software has encountered a problem and needs to close. We apologize[...] Send error report or don't send" (the infamous message when XP has shut down a buggy program.)
EBP support refuses to help me, blaming my Windows, which is a legitimate, updated version that works perfectly with everything I've installed in the past. I tried it on two machines; I get the same result.
EBP advises me to contact Microsoft (I can just imagine calling them to say this...!)
Any ideas?
Thanks.

It's the problem with EBP: good for selling and useless in customer service
Go to their website and download the latest version
Then enter your credentials and it should work.
Make sure to uninstall your software properly (with Revo Uninstaller for example) before reinstalling.

Thank you for your quick message (indeed for EBP that's what I gathered from my research regarding their ineffectiveness in customer service even though they communicate a lot about its supposed quality, but in the case of the concerned association, it's the only software that suited them, I had them test three free and/or open-source ones, but they didn't work for them.)
I did a clean uninstallation with Revo, installed the latest version from their site...
The result is the same: perfect installation then the same error message at startup...

Hello,
Have you tried on two computers and is the problem the same on both?
Then you need to look for the common denominator between the two (if this software didn't work on XPSP2, there would likely have been a corrective version released, I think...).
Often, it's the antivirus that causes issues.
Do you have an antivirus, and if so, which one?
Try disabling it completely and relaunching the software (make sure to disable it while being disconnected from the internet).
If that doesn't work, uninstall the software and reinstall it, still with your antivirus disabled (be careful to also stop the services because sometimes, just disabling it is not enough).
And let us know the outcome.
Thank you

Increasingly mysterious:
I tested on a third workstation, and the software works perfectly! (unfortunately, the software cannot be used by the association on that one, it's my work computer.) This workstation is also on XP SP2, updates completed, so it apparently has the exact same configuration (or I'm really at a loss).
The installed antivirus is Avast, but it's also installed on the workstation where it works! The mystery deepens.

Hello,
Try to see if there is any software installed on the other two workstations that your workstation doesn’t have, which might be causing a conflict...
There must be something...
Good luck

I uninstalled what wasn't on my machine, namely RealVNC and Nero. After reinstalling EBP Asso, the result is the same.
However, I just thought of something: it's XP Home on the PCs where it doesn't work and XP Pro where it does work.
Could that be the problem? And if so, is there a solution?
Thanks once again.

Hi!
I don't think it changes anything between XP Pro and Home.
Have you checked your graphics card? (the same one on both PCs in Home and a different one on the Pro one).
In that case, try updating your card's driver and as a second test, try also changing the screen resolution.
If it's not the card, try updating the other hardware components of your PCs as well.

Hi!
Thanks again for your efforts, I updated the graphics driver and tested the resolution... Nothing worked.
I'm going to drop it here, it's beyond my skills and it's not really part of my tasks to be the IT technician for this association. They'll have to call in a "real" technician if they want to use their software on one of these computers.
Thanks for the advice, we can consider the matter closed although unresolved [I don't think I can change the title to indicate that since I'm not a member?]
Take care.

Hi there!
I'm sorry I couldn't help you solve your problem...
I hope the association will be able to use the software after their technician's intervention.
Have a nice day

P.S.: I'm marking the subject as solved (even if that's unfortunately not the case...). If you ever find the solution, please post it here, it might help someone.

Hi, I have exactly the same issue when launching EBP Association 2008. The difference is that it worked for a while on my PC but now nothing. I did a system restore to a time when it was working but still nothing. If you found the solution, I'm interested.
Thanks.
Thanks.
hello,
as the president of an ASL (300 villas) I have taken over a succession where EBP association 2003 was installed. I had a major bug, contacted EBP support who could not intervene ((2 years lost by mistake) according to them, impossible to retrieve these years from the hard drive......... proposal for the sale of a newer version for 200 €, I did not follow up on this nonsense, a local IT technician solved the problem in an hour!!!

Hello and happy New Year 2009, joy, health, happiness, and love!!!
I am the manager of a small social association in Burkina Faso. In my online research, I found that you own EBP association 2008. Could you please help me obtain the software code? It is really for our association's accounting. Thank you in advance to everyone!

Hello everyone!
I have just taken over a small recreation center, but the management system is outdated. I am looking for a free or inexpensive software like EPB asso to manage my invoices and the attendance of the children.
The problem with EBP is that I don’t want to fight with customer service in case of an issue! What do you recommend?
