I installed a DVD burner on my PC. When I try to burn a DVD with Roxio 6, it tells me that no supported DVD burner has been detected by the system. Why?
Thank you for your response.

I forgot to mention that at the beginning when I got my PC, I could burn DVDs, but now it only takes CDs and not DVDs.

Hello. Are you sure that your burner is not just a CD burner and not both? Because it seems to me that it is??? @+.

Thank you for your response, but that's not it at all because I have burned on CD and DVD, and for some time now I can only burn on CD and not on DVD anymore. I don't receive any error messages when I need to burn; I'm asked to install a CD when it's already there. This only happens with DVDs, not with CDs. Thank you for the response.

Hello. You will go to the Control Panel, Administrative Tools, click on the two gear icons (Service, shortcut) and a dropdown will open. You look for the COM burning service, it's by alphabetical letters) and check if it's set to manual, and just above you also have everything concerning ROXIO, make sure everything is set to manual there too. See you later.

Thank you for your message. I did what you told me; I went to the control panel, and in administrative tools, I clicked on the two gears. The CD burning COM service is set to
manual, and you said that just above there was everything concerning Roxio, but I didn't find anything about Roxio.
Thank you for your response.

Hello. I have ROXIO version 8 and I have 04 lines regarding ROXIO that are well noted where I indicated to you. I can set them to automatic, manual, or disable. As for your version, I don't know, it's a mystery????. Maybe your software installed incorrectly and that's why it doesn't recognize your burner. When you open ROXIO and click on burn data DVD, in the window that opens, at the bottom (destination selection), in the box, you should have the listing of your burner. If there is no listing, click on the small black arrow and browse to give it the path to your burner. That way, I think it will recognize it. @+.
