Serious issue with ROXIO CREATOR 9

Solved

Hello everyone,

I have had a laptop running Vista for a little while now. The built-in burning software is Roxio Creator 9 which until now had not given me any problems, but recently, when I try to burn my movies in AVI format (about 700MB), by using "data discs", everything works except when it starts the burning verification. Two minutes later, it ejects my DVD and tells me:
"One or more files do not match the originals, it is recommended to restart the disk creation, please close all applications during disk creation."
However, no other applications are open. I don't understand, and I would really like someone to enlighten me on this issue.
I am using Philips DVD-Rs, should I switch to a different brand?
In the meantime, thank you.
Configuration: Windows Vista Internet Explorer 7.0

Hello everyone,
here it is! I have a HP dv6000 laptop, and for a while now I have a problem with Roxio Creator Basic v9, which does not detect any drives when I decide to burn a CD or make a CD copy... Knowing that my burner works very well with other burning methods under Vista, I have searched all the forums but haven't found a solution, so if you have a way to fix this I would be delighted.
Thank you.

I had the same problem; I reduced the writing speed to x8 and it works.

Hello,
I have an .AVI file that I want to burn with Roxio Creator Basic onto a DVD RW using an HP laptop with XP Pro. During phase 1, the file appears on the screen with a "no entry" sign even though the "All multimedia file types" tab is activated (and the .AVI file is in the list). Thus, it's impossible to start phase 2 of the burning process.
Why does the software not seem to recognize the .AVI file?
Do I need to convert the file to .VOB (which is recognized) or another format?
Thank you.

Hello, I have a Roxio game capture and it has good graphic quality, but when I watch my video, there is no sound for my voice or that of my friends; in short, I can't hear anyone talking. Only the sounds of the game exist. How should I fix this?? Thanks for your help ;-)

Hi, I have Windows Vista Home and I have Creator 9 as my burning software, which was already installed on my computer when I bought it.

Can you tell me the steps to take to burn the movies I have on my computer onto DVDs please?

Hello, I had a problem a few days ago because my computer no longer recognized my DVD burner. Now everything is fine, I managed to fix it, but now when I want to use a burning software (Roxio, the original software), it does not recognize any burners. Do you have a solution? Thank you.

I have a Vista laptop with Roxio Creator 9, but I can't open my JPEG images to burn them in JPEG format so that they can be viewed on DVD players. What steps should I take? Help me out!
Can I burn multiple images onto the same CD in different burn sessions? Thank you for the info.

I am desperately trying to burn my JPEG photos to a CD, but they do not appear when browsing through the folders. Roxio Creator Basic installed on my Windows Vista PC does not recognize them. I am losing hope of being able to do this. Thank you in advance to anyone who can provide a solution.

Thank you, Pilou,
the problem when I go through audio is that it doesn't accept my DVD+R
it asks me to insert a blank disc along with a whole list of discs it accepts, which I do, but it keeps rejecting my disc and displays the same message again.
Do you have a solution?
Thank you to you and to everyone who will try to find a solution to my problem

I had the same problem trying to copy a CD; Creator 9 refused to read my DVD-R and ejected it while displaying the same message. I found the solution: you just need to use a CD-R. So try with another type of CD. I hope it works.

Prepare your data disk, then go to options at the bottom left, click on disk information. It seems that the drive is having trouble recognizing your blank CD, so wait a moment; it will say "reading" and then recognize your CD, indicating that it's a blank media. After that, go back to your data disk and transfer the files.

Hi, I have a problem with Creator9. When I click on it, the message appears: "The certificate file is missing or corrupted, please reinstall the application." I'm lost and I don't know what to do, so I'm turning to your expertise.
HELP ME please, thank you.

Sorry for taking so long to reply lol
Well, I formatted it and it doesn't change anything, it won't recognize the disk (it's DVD+R verbatim)
As for the brand of the burner, I don't know, it's a computer I got for Christmas, it's a Packard Bell (the tower)
Regarding the device management, I go to the control panel then device manager and I'm lost because there are no question marks lol (yellow or any other color) I mention this but you probably already know, it's Vista lol.
Thanks for your help, Pilou

Hi.

There's one thing I'd like to know, has your engraver ever worked with you? It's difficult to give advice from a distance. Your problem may come from your engraver. The best thing would be to check with your after-sales service, since it should be under warranty.

Hello everyone,
I have decided to burn movies onto a DVD of about 4.7GB. However, I have many movies on my computer, but only two can be accepted by Roxio... Why?? The others are displayed with a prohibition, making it impossible for me to burn all these movies even though they are in the same format as the ones that work: .avi...

Hello,
I just burned some music in mp3 format onto a data disc.
The problem is that my car's player doesn't read my disc and I don't know how to make it readable.
Additionally, I don't know what the "Copy a Disc" tab (the icon is a music headset) is for. When I open this tab, it gives me the option to create a disc for a car or a hi-fi system.
The problem when I try to burn using this option is that it doesn't accept my blank disc and rejects it.
I don't know what to do anymore.
Could you please give me a hand? It would be really, really kind of you.

Sincerely,
Frederic

Hi, you have to change the CD with cd+ or cd- and it works.

Hello.
I don't see why you're burning MP3 music by choosing "data" when you have the option to burn by clicking on audio.
You can burn MP3 CDs or others. It's very easy.

Frédéric.
Maybe your DVD needs to be formatted? Do you have only one burner? Or try with DVD-R.
I just did a test right now, and it works very well.

Hello Pilou,

Yes, I only have one burner.
I tried again last night and it still doesn't work, lol.

How do I format a disk?? I thought it did it automatically (I'm really clueless, lol).
Here's how I burn. You might see a mistake and be able to help me.
I open Creator9
I insert the disk into the tray
I click on audio
I click on CD for car and hi-fi
Then it opens a window to install music.
I go to find my music in my music folder and drag the songs into the Creator window.
From there, the disk inserted in the computer tells me there are 10 minutes left (10 minutes of burning left to fill the DVD completely).
That works for me. Anyway, I don't have any more music to add, so
I click on the orange button at the bottom right to continue and start burning.
A window appears asking if I want to continue because once the burning is done, I won't be able to add more music.
I click OK
and the tray opens, asking me to put in a CD and listing all the types of CDs and DVDs that I can use.
I close the tray, click the orange button again, and so on; the tray opens again with the same message, and so on and so forth.

Thanks for your help once again.

Hi Frédéric.

If it’s Creator 9, it should normally work.

Formatting is usually automatic but well!!

To format, if it’s a RW, once your CD is in the drive, click on "My Computer." Then right-click again and there you format.
You should take a look in the Device Manager to see if there’s any issue with your drive, a yellow question mark. For that, right-click on "My Computer" and then open the Device Manager.

What’s the brand of your burner? Maybe an update would be necessary?
