Hello,
I currently have a problem with my Storex hard drive,
a few days ago it decided to stop working. When I plug it into the power supply without connecting it to a computer, the hard drive spins and the red light is on, but as soon as I connect it via the USB port, it stops spinning and the red LED starts flashing!!!! Can someone help me?

I also have a Storex external hard drive. It powers on correctly but the PC doesn't recognize it. I changed the power cable but still nothing. Can someone advise me on the issue? Thank you, I have all my work data on it.

My brother and I have the same Storex hard drive
and we experienced the same failure 1 month apart
it turns on but doesn't want to start
and actually it's not the hard drive but the power cord. -
Hello, I have exactly the same problem since this morning. I tested it with another computer and the result is the same: when the hard drive is connected via USB, it turns off and then turns back on every 4 seconds. It's worth noting that the hard drive has been in the same place since I bought it (last year) and hasn’t suffered any shocks...
I will try to find another cable, you never know! -
I had the same problem and found the solution.
It is indeed a failure of the power supply. The hard drive doesn't spin when connected with its original cable, but when I connected a direct USB 2 SATA IDE cable (after opening the case), the Storex hard drive started up as good as new... it had been dead in my mind for 6 months!!!!!!
Good luck! -
