System drivers update

Hello,

I had some random reboots on my PC two months ago, and I solved the issue by updating my BIOS from version 1408 (which was two years old) to version 1825 (the latest available at that time).

That had perfectly fixed things: no more problems.

And then yesterday it started again: 3 random reboots in the afternoon (while watching YouTube videos).

So this morning, I updated the BIOS to the latest available 1835.

But I’m thinking that other drivers might also need updating (except the GeForce driver, which is already up to date).

Here is the list of drivers downloaded this morning from ASUS (motherboard ASUS Z790-Pro-Wifi, CPU: i9-14900KF, 64GB RAM).

In your opinion, should I install all these updates or not?

I’m waiting a bit to see if it crashes again during video playback.

    If I go further to pinpoint the problems, I wonder, is the cooling for the I9 14900KF a very large air cooler or a water cooler?

    With OCCT Per (Personal) what temperatures do you reach?

    I built a PC with an I7 14700KF to avoid the I9, it heats up too much.

    And even with a good CPU cooler, you need to perform a CPU UnderVolt Offset in the BIOS.

    Since the update to the latest BIOS version v1836, I haven’t had any problems: it’s rock-stable!

    This v1836 update also updated the "Intel ME" to a version reputedly more stable, and it is said that this version will remain installed even if you revert to an older BIOS version. It’s clearly a major update.

    Personally I’ve regained exemplary stability, even when it’s fully loaded with heavy tasks.

    To answer your question about temperature, I’ve always been a little worried since purchase for my i9-14900KF, which isn’t known for staying cool...

    So I installed back then the biggest cooler I could find, a huge monster with 2 fans on either side of the heatsink itself, in a B-quiet case meant to vent properly (no water cooling, the noise and reliability annoy me...).

    For 2 years now, I’ve never had the slightest overheating issue on the i9, even under full load.

    On the other hand I recently ripped some DVDs with a program that also uses the GPU to speed up processing, and there my RTX5070 heated up a lot!

    No crashes, but the air exiting the case seemed unreasonably hot! I think the case’s original fan is insufficient in extreme cases, I’d need to find a more powerful one (but preferably staying discreet when not pushing hard).

    That’s the only time I felt air so hot (I can’t say what the CPU or GPU temperature was since I no longer have ArmouryCrate).

    Anyway, I’ll look at your recommendations on IObit when I get back from vacation, but for weeks now, zero crashes…
