Wifi/Hercules Key, No networks detected

Hello, I have a Sagem Livebox connected to one PC, and on a second PC in the same house, I installed a Hercules key model 54LB. The installation went well, and I was able to connect to my Livebox. But now, it has been 2 weeks since I've been using it without any issues, and since yesterday, there is no connection, and the scan doesn't detect any networks, whereas there were several before, so I don't think it's an issue with my Livebox. When I unplug and replug the key, 2 out of 3 times, Windows does not recognize it, and when it does, it stays connected... for 5 seconds, then the scan detects nothing, and shortly after, the WiFi-station indicates that the WiFi key is not connected to a USB port, though it is, and so on... I have already reinstalled the program and tried various solutions after consulting several forums and help guides, but I can't find anything. Perhaps it is interference, but I am not sure; I have one of the latest drivers for the key and I am using Vista. Thank you for shedding some light on the problem in any way because this is starting to take too long!

    test the key on another computer, it may simply be faulty.

    Well, I installed it on the PC where my LB is connected via cable, so I removed it to avoid connection conflicts, and the connection is excellent, but it doesn't last long either. Then there's also the "device not recognized" message, and nothing more, so it’s very likely that the key is faulty, even though on the PC where I tested the key (with Windows XP here), it was recognized faster at first than by Vista, but the problem shouldn't come from that.

    So I'll go have it replaced since there’s a warranty, but thank you because I didn't think of this possibility at all, as it had worked well for quite a while.
    Hoping that the next one works better too...

      Good evening, I have the same problem you encountered with the faulty connection between the Livebox and the Hercules key; I would like to know if after changing your Hercules key the problem was resolved? Because I also have this message stating that it does not recognize the device!!! Yet, for 10 months, there were no issues! Suddenly, it started malfunctioning, alternating connection phases for 5 seconds, then nothing for 5 seconds, then repeating until there is no connection at all; thank you for your response.

    Je suis sur Windows XP Édition Familiale. J'ai branché ma carte PCI dans le port, jusque-là tout allait bien, mais au moment de me connecter à ma Freebox, il y a une protection WPA sur la Freebox et ma carte PCI station Wi-Fi Hercules me dit qu'elle n'est pas compatible avec cette protection. Est-ce normal ? Si oui, comment pourrait-on faire pour qu'elle la détecte ?

    Hello,
    I also had a similar problem with the installation of the Hercules Wi-Fi key not being detected. After a call to technical support, it turns out that my Windows environment hadn't been updated for a while, so the driver wasn't recognized.
    I updated everything yesterday and I will try the installation again this week.

    Summary of the interventions:
    Hercules' assistance says: Orange needs to configure the live box
    - Switch from WPA to WEP
    - Change the RF channel (we chose 7)
    - Disable the MAC address filter (even though there isn't one on the Inventel box)

    With Orange (they slow down saying they're not "authorized" to do this but they help me anyway: thanks guys at 0.34 cents per minute, it's the least you can do, right?) we proceed with steps 1 and 3

    And it still doesn't work! They say "it's Hercules' fault, you should get a key recommended by Orange"! Great!

    I call Hercules again and start complaining! When I launch Wi-Fi Station, I see the box, it's selected, I see the green icon but the connection works really badly whether it's on Internet Explorer or on the Orange browser!!!
    I'll skip the details and various manipulations in the control panel...
    Result ..... I'm sending the key back!

    Hello,
    I'm having trouble installing the WiFi connection on a desktop PC running Windows 98 with a NetGear USB WiFi dongle.
    If you could help me with the exact procedure. I know I need to press the WiFi button on the LiveBox, and I have to enter the LiveBox number, but the WiFi connection is not working, is it a port issue???

      Hello, I searched for the Hercules key and it's real junk, it doesn't work with Free. One piece of advice: get NETGEAR, it's the best of all. Otherwise, good luck!

    If you have a message regarding WPA protection, it means your card is working and it is detecting the free network properly.
    For the WPA issue, you can change the protection to WEP key; here’s a tutorial explaining it at the end:
