Hello and Happy New Year,
I hope I'm in the right section.
I have several questions and I'm quite lost as this is the first time I'm dealing with this.
In my uncle's house, there is a Freebox Revolution, a TP-Link router, and 3 RE650 repeaters.
The Wi-Fi network from the Freebox is working fine!
When I connect to the TP-Link RE650 repeater, I am connected but I have no network. I have not mistyped the password. When I open a web page, it does not load. I repeat that it works with the direct Wi-Fi from the Freebox.
Do you have any ideas or leads to give me?
Of course, I have restarted the repeaters that I connected to the 2.4GHz and 5GHz networks. By the way, which network is better between the two? 2.4GHz or 5GHz?
Correct me if I'm wrong about the process: the TP-Link router should connect to the Freebox Wi-Fi, then the repeaters connect to the TP-Link router, and the devices connect to the repeater. Is that how it works?
There are 3 TP-Link repeaters, same brand, same model. Do I need to connect each device to all the repeaters at least once so that it connects by itself, or is one connection to one repeater enough for it to connect to all the repeaters?
The house is in an L-shape, making it difficult to connect a repeater to the TP-Link router. Can I connect the distant repeater to a second repeater that is nearby? In terms of reliability and bandwidth, will there be any issues?
How many devices can I connect per repeater? I read 4, which seems low to me.
Does the Wi-Fi password of the repeater need to be the same as the password of the router? I would like to change it without changing the rest.
What is the role of the TP-Link router since the Freebox is also a router?
There are 3 TP-Link devices in the house; should they all have the same name?
On the Mafreebox site or the Freebox app, it is possible to see the devices connected to the Freebox. If a device connects to the repeater, will it be visible in the Freebox app or on the mafreebox.freebox.fr site? Or will we only see the routers?
I have plenty of questions; thank you for your help.

Hello,
Why a router? It's not for us to answer ;-)
Maybe because the router's wifi is better than that of the Freebox?
The router should be connected with a cable to the Freebox. Is it configured in router mode (then it creates a second local network) or in bridge mode (it's the Freebox that performs the DHCP function and assigns IPs)?
Do the repeaters broadcast the wifi network of the Freebox or that of the router?
A repeater must be located between the main transmitter and a user device, halfway between the two, and always within the reception area of the transmitter; otherwise, it will not receive any wifi.
We should check the IP you have when connected to the repeater and the characteristics of the connection. Use the command line mode and the command
Best regards

We should check the IP you have when connected to the repeater and the characteristics of the connection. Use the command line mode and the command
ipconfig/allto retrieve those values, and do the same while connected to the Freebox wifi network.
Best regards
It's the TP-Link RE650 https://www.tp-link.com/fr/home-networking/range-extender/re650/
The TP-Link router is connected by Ethernet cable to the Freebox Server and the repeater is connected via Wi-Fi to the router. The repeater is not CPL.
I think it is set to router mode, I'll check tonight. I think so.
Do the repeaters broadcast the Wi-Fi network of the Freebox or that of the router? YES
A repeater should be located between the main emitter and a user device, halfway between the two, and always within the reception area of the emitter; otherwise, it does not receive any Wi-Fi. Are you implying that it is not possible to connect a repeater to another repeater?
We need to check the IP you have when connected to the repeater, and the characteristics of the connection. Use the command line mode and the command ipconfig/all to retrieve these values, and do the same when connected to the Wi-Fi network of the Freebox. Once I have this information, what do I do with it because I know I am connected, but I have no network through the repeater?
So the first one is not a router but a Wi-Fi access point.
If a repeater can broadcast the Wi-Fi of another repeater, the positioning logic remains the same; above all, you must stay within the reception range of the transmitter. The repeater also has a light indicator: blue for OK, red for KO.
You publish the information on the forum to see what IPs are assigned, and whether there is one local network or two.
Yes, there is information about the signal, it's blue so it is ON and it's blue for 2.4GHz and 5GHz.
I will do that this evening for ipconfig.
