Hello,

I just picked up my grandparents' turntable, a Beogram 1000 model, with a Beomaster amplifier and the associated speakers.

I can plug the amp into the power outlet, but the turntable's power plug won't fit into the wall socket, and I don't understand why???

Help, I’m so eager to listen to all their old vinyl records!

    Hello,

    Test with a 2P+T and 2P compatible power strip
    The first solution, and often the simplest, is to plug your device into a power strip rather than directly into the wall outlet. Some power strips are more tolerant and also accept both two-prong and three-prong plugs.

      Hello,

      Suggesting a power strip (link2) with only 2P+T outlets identical to wall outlets is not very realistic; we will run into the same problem again.

      As for the adapter, not sure that the plastic part will fit without issues.

    What is wrong?

    The spacing of the outlets should not pose a problem, however, the plastic part of the plug may not be able to fit into the current female outlets.

    Two solutions:

    • Replace the plug with a .
    • Slightly file down the plastic part of the plug so that it can be inserted into the wall outlet

    Very difficult to catch a black cat in a dark room.
    Especially when it isn’t there...

      Indeed I forced it (I hadn't dared before) and it finally worked :)

      On the other hand, only one of the two speakers is functioning; I think it's a connectivity issue related to the amp, and the sound crackles and pops as soon as I touch any button. I will take it to a vintage audio repairer.

        Ok...

        As for the speaker that isn’t working, try connecting the non-working one in place of the working one and vice versa.

        If the problem follows the speaker, the issue is the speaker itself; if, on the other hand, the problem remains on the same output, then the issue is with the amplifier that handles that side.
