Hello, my old-generation Packard Bell laptop starts up but there is no signal to the screen. I’ve tried lots of tricks but nothing works. I simply know that it seems to try to boot from the DVD drive but it doesn’t stop, I removed the drive using a pin and that stopped, but nothing works—the screen is black and the LEDs are red... what should I do please, I don’t know what to think anymore except that I saw on the side of the laptop, at the top of the keyboard, below the screen, a small rectangular hole that makes me think of an anti-theft security feature!!?

thanks, it’s quite urgent!!

    Hello,

it would be useful to say the model of this Packard Bell..? Its age and the operating system..?

Boot into the BIOS and see what it says..??

It is very possible that the hard drive is faulty... which does not prevent the BIOS from displaying.

      Hello,

      This is a good question.

The brand seems to have been revived with a few Low Cost models, but after being bought by everyone and their father and then disappeared in the 2000s-2010s.

Unless there is a defect in the screen or its connector, in this latter hypothesis, we would gladly argue, given the age, for a hardware failure (RAM, motherboard, hard drive) which, unless it’s a disk or RAM, repair if possible would cost more than the model.

If there is only software corruption, we should be able to reinstall from an installation USB key of the considered Windows version; it costs nothing to try.

    good evening

old PC since when did it not work?

if several weeks, you must leave it on AC power for several days, hoping the battery recharges a little; if it’s empty, nothing starts
