Hello,

I would like to know if there is a trick to boot from a USB key even from a BIOS that doesn't offer this option?

Thank you in advance,

    Hello,

    Is tapping the F8 key?

If F8 is for the BIOS, then Esc might be for the Boot Menu?

    Hello

Motherboards of this type with Intel P35 chipset and later P45 do not allow booting from a flash drive like USB; only a CD/DVD is accepted. This is a limitation that exists quite systematically on motherboards managing the IDE standard. We are dealing with very old hardware...2005/2006.

      Hello,

      The P45 allows, P35 I don't know.

With my Gigabyte EP45-UD3R, you need to start the Boot Menu (F12), then select Hard Disks, and then select among the USB drives, etc.

My bad, in my memory, it was mainly the presence of IDE channels that blocked these options in the BIOS. But that's old, the oldest motherboard I have left is an Asus Z97A.

Thank you all for your insights; I will try to install W11 through a DVD.

      Hello,

Not necessarily better, Windows 11 only fits on a double-layer DVD and if the drive isn't recent either, it's not guaranteed that it can read them.
