Hello,

I used to be on VDSL with Orange and had no problems with wifi/PC connection.

I just switched to fiber with a Freebox Revolution.

I can connect to 5 GHz with my smartphone, but it's impossible with my computers (3), the 5 GHz connection does not appear in the available networks on my 3 computers. Only 2.4 GHz.

Do you have a solution?

Thank you in advance for your help.

Hello,

It might be the network card of the computers that is too old and unable to detect the 5 GHz network.

Try using a smartphone functioning as a hotspot (5 GHz) for confirmation.

At my place, I have the opposite issue: the computer can see the 5 GHz network from the FB Revolution, but it cannot see that of the smartphone.

What is well conceived is clearly stated,
And the words to express it come easily.

Hello,

If I try with the smartphone's 5 GHz hotspot, there is nothing either, but I can see it in 2.4.

my card.

With a USB WiFi AC adapter, it works... for now I’m going to buy 3 to tide me over and see if it's worth buying compatible network cards.. I need 3 or 4 for computers that are starting to age.

Thank you for your help.

Have a nice day.

Hello,

If that's not the case, try setting different SSID names on the 2.4 and 5 GHz networks of the box, for example ulysse2 and ulysse5, and see what you notice, some old wifi cards like yours don't handle two bands with the same SSID very well.

And there you go, there you have it ....

But gosh, those line spacings are so annoying!!

Ultimately, the problem is indeed the age of the PC and its card... What’s surprising is that this issue appeared when switching to fiber... all (5) worked very well on 5 GHz with VDSL. Since a new card seems impossible to find, I bought 3 adapters, and if one day I’m richer, I’ll change 2 PCs... Thank you for your response.
