Hello, Windows 11 computer, system SSD

Since this morning my computer is very very slow to execute any command. Explorer, settings...

Yet Task Manager shows: CPU 0%, memory 5%, disk access 0% and seems to indicate that no task or processor is active. but despite this, for example opening File Explorer takes about 10 minutes.

Could you tell me some ways to identify the source of this malfunction? Thanks for your help.

Best regards

    Hello,

Start by checking the SSD status with CrystalDiskInfo

    https://www.commentcamarche.net/telecharger/utilitaires/6735-crystaldiskinfo/

It can be Good, Caution, or Bad; in the last two cases, it must be replaced.

Then if the SSD is Good, a data‑preserving repair could fix it.

Download the Windows 11 ISO file (disk image)

    https://www.microsoft.com/fr-fr/software-download/windows11

When you have the ISO file, right‑click > Open with > Windows Explorer

    Then click the setup.exe file

Follow the instructions to "install" without erasing everything, so that the checkmarks showing you keep everything are indeed OK

You can also check for viruses and unnecessary processes if you want.

But remember to back up your personal data and browser favorites before anything.

hello, performing a system restore to an earlier date might also resolve your issue.

      PRESS WINDOWS KEY + R

      Type RSTRUI.EXE in the box

      follow the instructions

Thank you for your contributions and recommendations. Here is where I stand.

More radical than a restore, I reset the PC while making sure not to delete all my data. It all took about 30 minutes. But once the PC rebooted, I fall back to the same issue: extreme slowness in the execution of any program.

    Best regards

Hello, finally I’m going to reinstall Windows 11 from a USB key. I have an ISO image. I’m currently creating a Windows 11 install USB from an ISO image. regards

      ReHello,

So we won't know why it was slow.

Reducing startup items and thinning Windows telemetry are the first elements to consider, even with a reinstalled system.
