Different connection speeds

Hello,

I have 2 PCs connected via Wi-Fi to the same Orange box. Both PCs are i7, one is an "Acer" brand, and the other is an "MSI" brand.

These 2 PCs do not have the same connection speed; I took a screenshot at the same time of the Wi-Fi characteristics:

The MSI:

The other one, the Acer:

Can someone explain to me the reason for the huge difference in connection speed between these 2 PCs, connected via Wi-Fi to the same box? And how can I improve the MSI?

Thank you

    Hello,

You should try to connect the MSI to the 2.4 GHz band, like the Acer. The 5 GHz band performs better when you are close to the Wi-Fi source; the farther you move away or the more obstacles there are, the lower the speed will be. You also need to make sure to run the test from the same location on both PCs.

    Hello,

You could also set up different SSID names, for example nialpi2 and nialpi5, for the 2.4 and 5 GHz Wi-Fi networks of your box, which would allow you to easily choose which network you are using.

Moreover, the Acer seems to have a much newer Wi-Fi card (ax201) than the other one.

    And there you go, voilà...

But, damn, those line spacings are so annoying!!

    Hello,

That's exactly what I did on the MSI. I set up a different network, and the connection speed has come much closer to that of the Acer, although it hasn't matched it, but it's still okay.

    Thanks!
