Hello everyone,

I set up my Canon Pixma 3650 S printer via Wi-Fi a month ago by following the instructions, and it worked well for 15 days. However, I changed my Freebox due to picture freezing on the TV.

With my new Freebox, I reset the printer and followed the same procedure as the first time,

the printer is recognized, everything installs normally but at the end of the download, a window opens saying: MP drivers: unable to create a new port: 0000.

I contacted Canon France, and they told me to reinstall Windows 11 and everything would be fine, my Asus laptop, Intel Core i7 is 2 months old.

The seller of the computer and the printer has no solution at the moment.

PS: the printer works with a USB cable.

Attached is the report of the printer installation with defects that I cannot execute.

So if you have a solution to help me, I thank you in advance.

Suggestion: Uninstall and reinstall the printer properly.
It’s up to you to make this decision.

Download and install --> Revo Uninstaller
Run it as an administrator
Uninstall all products of the Canon printer
Follow the tutorial carefully to uninstall everything properly including residual folders and keys.
For the residual scan, check --> advanced mode
Restart the PC.

Download this driver --> MG3650
Turn on the printer
Launch the driver setup
Follow the instructions carefully.

Hello,

I have news and I can now scan and print via Wi-Fi again.

Indeed, Windows does not remove everything, and with Revo Uninstaller, I was able to delete all Canon entries.

Then I reinstalled it and it worked.

Thank you, thank you all for your help.

Best wishes.

Hello,

Does the printer retrieve an IP address from the router properly?

Ideally, it should be given a static one either manually or via DHCP reservation in the router.

In any case, make a note of this IP address; there should be a command in the menu to print the network configuration.

From there, go to Windows, printers, properties, check the ports tab, and add a TCP/IP port by entering the printer's IP address as a raw port or something else, but raw usually works.

And there you go....

But goodness, how annoying are the line spaces!!

Actually,

sorry I hadn't read your screenshot, but the printer's network configuration page is what you're showing, so you have the IP address, even an IPv6. However, to make it static, which is desirable, you need to go into the static DHCP settings of the router with the printer's MAC address and add it, if you don't know how to do it manually. The TCP/IP port behind it needs to be done as well.

The IPv6 address should be static given its composition (derived from autoconfiguration in eui64)

Good evening,

Consider connecting with the "Print" smartphone app from Canon, it's simpler.

Once your local network is linked to the printer, you just need to scan your local network with your PC to detect it and use the generic Windows applications and your programs to use the printer as you wish; it also works with Linux.

However, if you have reviewed the security of your wifi network, this printer is not suitable for a high level of security like WPA3 and other settings, making any wifi connection impossible except for direct connection without going through the router/internet box.

Brute force method, it's trusting automata that work when they want, but gives no control over the connection.

Thank you for your response,

Box IP address: yes for me but I will check again.

Locally I can't manage it manually, plus it’s impossible to check the box.

I will look into static DHCP in the box.

Thank you very much

Hello

By changing your router, you changed your SSID and password

You need to enter this information in the printer settings using the available tools (screen or app)

Hello everyone.

Some news.

First, thank you for helping me with the connection of my printer to the wifi.

The only thing I could do was to connect my smartphone and my printer to the wifi. The PC and the printer keep having issues in every way.

Have a great day.

Hello,

Can you ping the printer at the address 192.168.1.44?

In the printer properties under the ports tab, add a tcpip port for this address.

But well, I already mentioned all of this in my first message.

Why IPP? That's not what I indicated, the printer is properly installed?

Why IPP, I only have that displayed in the window, in add a tcpip port, not possible.

Thank you

I'm talking about the printer properties window (right-click on the printer properties).

Hello,

I have access to the line to add a TCP/IP port, for that the line "Print mode protected by Windows" needed to be in the "Configure" position. That said, after uninstalling all the Canon files, I reinstalled Canon and it works over Wi-Fi.

Thank you, thank you for your help.

Wishing you all the best

OK,

"protected printing mode"?

never seen that.

Apparently, this new WPP system is more of a hassle than it helps :-(

Have you tried with the Wi-Fi connection assistant as proposed in --> message 4 ?

After the installation, launch it
Turn on the printer to start it
Click on --> Diagnostics and Repair

A kaneagle.

Yes, I tried, it’s not working, I don’t have that button on my printer and as I said no, I can’t find my 3650 printer.

Thank you.

Hello,

If your printer is connected to the internet box through your mobile, you just need to go to devices on your PC, printers, delete the old connection of your printer, and then scan and add it again.
