Hello!
I have a multifunction printer ET-2821. Connected via WIFI to my Dell PC running W11, it prints correctly.
However, I can't get the scanner to work: it doesn't appear in the list of devices???
How can I set up the scanner function through the PC???

    Hello,

Assuming that the scanning function is only available via USB, I haven't checked if the scanning software and drivers are properly installed regardless of Windows' automatic recognition of the printer?

Yes, I installed everything; but how can I check it?

There is normally nothing to check; when the drivers and Epson Scan are installed, we should be able to open it and access it without any errors in the device manager of the control panel.

If it does not recognize the device, try using USB.

We have cases with some older Epson printers (like mine) where Epson Scan is outdated and no longer works on Windows 11; I worked around the issue with HP Scan and Capture, which works perfectly (the printer is connected via USB).

This printer is less than two years old...

    Hello,

Has the Epson Scan driver been installed properly?

Is there really no way to launch Epson Scan?

With the printer on, try the following procedure:

    • Open "PAINT"
    • Click on File at the top left
    • Select Import from Scanner or Camera
    • Finally, click on from a scanner or camera

A window will open inviting you to scan from your printer.

    Example for an HP printer

It's very difficult to catch a black cat in a dark room.
    Especially when it isn't there...

    Hello everyone,
Thank you for your responses! Unfortunately, my scanner still isn't working and I can't figure out why... Could one of you guide me, step by step, to resolve this problem that I can't pinpoint? (note: the printer part works...)

    Hello @mikel831 StatusMember

Have you tried the driver that baladur13 gave you in message 7?

When I start it, the connection to the scanner takes a very long time and does not succeed...

    Is Windows up to date?

    Press Windows + i
1- Click on --> Windows update
    2- Check for updates
    3- Click on Advanced options
4- Look in the optional updates.

After various searches, I found the IP address assigned by the DHCP to the scanner.
Furthermore, I realized that the (archaic) Epson scanning software was unable to locate this address (I hate Epson); so I added it manually, and finally, it works!!!
Thank you all, best regards, Mikel
