Epson TWAIN 5 Software for 1240u Scanner

Hello,
following the installation of the Epson Perfection 1240U scanner on the USB port of a Windows 98 machine and the Epson Smart Panel software, I wanted to use the copy function of the software (= photocopying a document) and the following error message appeared:
Epson Twain 5
Transmission error
Note: the machine is connected to an HP Laser 1200 printer

    new Windows Vista hardware problem when installing my Epson Stylus CX 3200 printer, I no longer have the Epson Twain 5 driver in the device, how can I proceed? HELP ME!!!!

      During the repair of my computer, they removed Windows XP and installed Windows Vista. I wanted to download the Epson software for my printer, but nothing worked because the TWAIN driver was missing.
      Can someone guide me to resolve this issue? THANK YOU IN ADVANCE.
