Unable to print from Firefox on Ubuntu 24.04

Hello,
Since my upgrade to Ubuntu version 24.04, I am unable to print from Firefox. I get stuck right at the preview display, which does not show up.
Thinking it was due to the implementation of snap packages, I uninstalled the snap version of Firefox and reinstalled the deb version following the procedure provided by Mozilla.
Same problem.
My printer is correctly displayed in the settings.
It’s worth noting that I installed Opera and I can only print PDFs there as well.
Thank you for your help.

Hello,
Apparently under Linux, the applications are not to blame, as they rely on CUPS to print.
- Is your user indeed part of the lp or lpadmin group? To check, run the following command in a terminal and let us know the result.
groups
-
Are you sure that your printer is properly registered in CUPS? To do this, open with your browser http://localhost:631/admin and try to print a test page.
- If you can't print in CUPS, please specify which printer model you are using and how you installed/configured it? Also, are you sure that the driver is properly installed?
Good luck
Thank you mamiemando
Can you tell me the command that gives me the users of the lp group?
With the groups command, I get the following response:
jacques@asus-jacques-n75sl:~$ groups jacques adm cdrom sudo dip plugdev lpadmin sambashare jacques@asus-jacques-n75sl:~$
I must specify that printing works perfectly for all applications except for firefox (for firefox it does not work for a non-admin user).
Thank you.
I am closing the thread because I found the impression without any special action. I don't understand what happened.
- Strange indeed. If the problem occurs again, Firefox seems to remember print settings that can be cleared if needed (see here).
- Don't forget to mark your thread as resolved next time.
Good luck and thank you for your feedback
