Black screen, no boot

Hello,

I just changed my power supply, motherboard, and processor, and I'm encountering a serious problem.

When I turn on the PC, the screen stays black, nothing is displayed, and the fans for the CPU, power supply, and graphics card are running. There are no beeps and no LED lights are on. I'm out of ideas.

Nvidia GeForce GTX 1660

ASRock B450M-HDV R4.0

AMD Ryzen 5 4500

MSI MAG A650BN - 650W power supply, 80 Plus Bronze certified, ATX PSU, single rail 12V, DC to DC circuit.

    Native BIOS compatible with this CPU? Are you familiar with PC assembly or is this your first time?

    Hello,

    I am familiar with assembling PCs.

    The ASRock website does not mention the AMD Ryzen 5 4500 processor in the BIOS list for the B450M-HDV R4.0 motherboard, nor its compatibility with the current BIOS version of my motherboard.

    The current version of my BIOS is P10.10 ASRock > B450M-HDV R4.0.

    However, I read on another site that the ASRock B450M-HDV R4.0 Micro ATX AM4 motherboard is compatible with the AMD Ryzen 5 4500 3.6 GHz 6-core processor starting from BIOS version P4.90.

      Good evening, I believe you have your answer. When upgrading or choosing a processor, it's always necessary to update the BIOS beforehand and check on the retailer's site for the current hypothetical version. Find out if the motherboard has a button to manually flash the BIOS without a CPU. Best regards.

    Hello,

    Indeed, your motherboard is compatible with the Ryzen 5 4500 starting from BIOS version p4.90, see ihere. If this is the version you have installed, it should have worked unless there's something else that is blocking it.
