My processor does not fit into the motherboard socket.

Hello,
I have acquired a configuration that I designed in order to fully assemble it. During the assembly, my Intel Core i7 7700K processor did not fit into the socket of my MSI Z270 Gaming Pro Carbon motherboard. What is the problem?

It's hard to guess... except to say that you didn't put it in the right direction and/or read the assembly instructions incorrectly
both are on a socket 1151, so unless they are not the correct references, they should fit without ever forcing.

Where the processor notches do not fit perfectly.

Hi,
can you take a photo and post it on the forum?

I understand what Quebecers want to tell me, but installing a processor is very simple, and I did it correctly, yet it still wouldn't fit; could it then be a manufacturing defect?

Hello,

Indeed, there shouldn't be any issues, it shouldn't force.

Have you tried it as presented in this tutorial?

https://www.materiel.net/guide-achat/g1-guide-de-montage-pc/3/

What is the exact point where it gets stuck?

I did as instructed in the tutorial, but the processor never wanted to fit.

What exactly is the part that’s causing the issue? A corner of the CPU? Or the motherboard?

Indeed, the hypothesis of a defect in either one is the most likely.

Sorry, I can't do it as I'm assembling the PCs so it's not at my place, so the photos are not possible.
