Hello

I bought a GIGASET A 605 H fixed phone with 3 handsets. The problem is that it doesn't ring for external calls; I can call normally, and the answering machine works fine.

There must be something I need to do!!!! But what? There's nothing in the manual about this issue.

Can you help me?

Thank you in advance for your responses.

Best regards

    Hello,

The reference A605H pertains to the handsets.

Since you're mentioning an answering machine, I assume you have a base A605A (integrated answering machine - several buttons on the base and a display).

The answering machine you are encountering is indeed yours and not the voicemail from your operator?

Have you allowed enough time for the handsets to be fully charged? Gigaset recommends 5 hours.

On the screen of your handsets, in the top line, do you see an icon resembling a bell with a cross over it?

If so, a long press on the * (star) key will turn the ringer on or off.

If you do a short press on the "Paging" button on the base (at the top right next to the +), do the handsets ring?

Normally the base and the handsets should ring during a call.

See the manual on page 35 for volume adjustment and page 36 for melody settings.

    Hello

    Thank you for your response

I confirm, after checking, that I indeed have an A605a

On the display of the handset, I do not have a crossed bell

When I press the * key, the crossed bell appears

I have adjusted the volume and the melody

And all handsets ring with "paging"

It has been charging for 2 months

    Sincerely

      Ok...

You said the answering machine works.

When you reach the answering machine and leave a message, is it indeed your answering machine that is triggered?

The display indicates the presence of a message (changes from 0 to 1) and you can listen to the message?

If this phone is connected to a box, reset it. To do this, unplug the power to the box for a good minute, then turn the box back on.

    Hello

The answering machine is working normally

I do have a message that I can listen to and the display shows 1

What I'm missing is the ringing on the handsets when I have an outside call. The answering machine starts up well>>>> but there is no ringing

I do have a box that I reset regularly.

    I want my ringtone

    Best regards

See the notice on page 37 of the manual (39 of the pdf) for how the following parameters are set:

    • Enabling/disabling the ringtone based on time.
    • Disabling blocked calls

    Hello

    Thank you for your response

While reading the manual, I didn't understand the purpose of the time function

I activated it without setting a time range. It should work!!!!!!!

I am waiting for an outside phone call to check if the handsets ring

    Thanks again

    Sincerely

You can call your landline with your mobile phone... if you have one, of course.

I don't have a phone. One day, someone will call me.

Indeed, there are many "sales" calls that can occur, but not necessarily when you need them. So to speed up the process, the most effective way is to call a friend and ask them to call you back.

    It's getting complicated...

No ringing from the base or any of the three handsets... I'm out of ideas here.

It wasn't a withheld number; you have disabled the block on ringing for withheld calls...

Is the number presentation confirmed with your operator?

    Who is that operator? FREE?

      I'm with Free

and I don't know if the number presentation is well validated

Surely I had the same phone before this one with the same box >>> no problem

You didn't answer my question regarding blocked calls (see notice on page 37 (39 of the pdf).

Do you see the numbers displayed during calls or not?

        This phone has never rung?

Actually, I didn't look when I heard the answering machine starting (no message)

When checking the incoming calls, I did have a number displayed

This morning I went through all the settings >>> I'm waiting for a phone call to verify

    Hello

I'm starting to get frustrated with this phone

    Still no ringtone

I wonder if it's the fiber that's causing the problem ??????

How can I know if it's FREE with the fiber that's having issues

Yet the old phone from the same manufacturer worked normally

    I've reset everything (factory reset)

      Hello,

I have reset everything (factory reset)

I would suggest returning it to the store.

The fiber has nothing to do with the issue since the phone receives calls, records messages with the caller's number, and it works for outgoing calls.

Check, although I don't really believe it, that the telephone cable connections at the box and at the base are properly in place.

If the answer to my question from message #13

"Has this phone ever rung?" is: it has never rung, then yes, a return for service is necessary.

Before this return, we can try testing with a friend's or neighbor's phone to demonstrate that another phone rings at your place and that yours does not ring at that person's.

    Hello

Thank you for all your responses

    The three intercoms never rang

My son called me in the early afternoon >>>>>> no ringing on any of the 3

Tomorrow morning back to the store. He will have to explain it to me !!!!!!

The bass should also be added, which should sound as well.

    Hello

The phones are at the after-sales service, then with the manufacturer. Response in 15 to 20 days.

    Hello

    The phone is back

As I predicted, the manufacturer found nothing (they're not going to say otherwise)

They still did an update (weird)

Result: everything works normally, even the ringtone for incoming calls
