Reinstalling Money

Hello,

I had an old computer with Money version 2005. I still have the installation CD.

I bought a new computer, I reinstalled Money from my installation CD, I made a backup copy on the old computer, I transferred it to the new computer.

I have this error message that appears.

...I can't find the solution.

Can anyone help me?

Hello ....

The username on the new PC might be different from the old one, and MsMoney does not recognize the backup.

In your screenshot, we can see that the username of the backup made on the old PC is laure ....

Question ► Do you still have the old PC and is it still working?

Yes, I still have my old PC and it still works... And money too.

Thanks for the feedback.....

You need to save directly to a USB stick..which means you have to change the backup path in the MsMoney options, and then launch MsMoney using this backup made on your USB stick, and I think that should be fine

For me, the USB is drive E:/ ► You put yours ...if you get an error message when you confirm the backup, just respond yes...
