Hello
I currently have the 2005 version of Money (14.0.21202107).
When I download files directly from my bank (Hello Bank) in OFX or QIF format, I get the following message upon opening the downloaded file:
"A communication error has occurred. Please try again. If the problems persist, call your financial institution's technical support" for OFX
If I download in QIF format, I also get an error message:
"The file you tried to import contains errors or corrupted data. Please download it again. If the problem persists, please contact your financial institution"
The software used to open the downloaded files is Microsoft Money Import Handler.
Thank you

Hello;
Since when has this problem existed? And as the message indicates, the error would come from the bank's server? >> Do you have the OFX-Money download option on the bank's server?
In my opinion, try downloading again tomorrow, and if there are still issues, contact the bank's technical support as indicated.
Best regards

Response regarding:
I found the solution for "Hello Bank" only, but the principle remains the same for other institutions.
• Download in QIF format to a folder (e.g., downloads)
• Open the folder containing the downloaded file
• Open the downloaded file in Word (right-click open with)
• The file opens in Word.
Modify the text as follows: (Just add a line break after the word Bank)
!Type Bank
...
• Close the file while saving changes
• Then reopen the file with "Microsoft Money Import Handler"
• Money opens and the statement is downloaded into the desired account.

Hello;
Thank you for the feedback;
Indeed, if this bank does not offer OFX-Money that opens directly with MsMoney (without any issues) which some banks do provide, then the solution is the one you are applying, so if I understood correctly, your concern is resolved!
A+ for your upcoming comments but if none >> Resolved
