Problem with Avidemux

Hello,
I installed Avidemux on my PC about 2 or 3 years ago from the official site and I'm very happy with it (a recent update was made). However, for some time now, an error message appears when I make cuts, a message of the kind:
" This video uses non-IDR recovery points instead of IDR as key frame. Picture reordering information in the video is not reset at non-IDR frames. The chosen start and end points of the deletion may result in playback interruption to inter display order of frames if saved in copy mode. Proceed anyway? "
When I proceed to save the edit, another message appears:
" This video uses non-IDR recovery points instead of IDR as key frame. Picture reordering information in the video is not reset at non-IDR frames. The choice of cut points may result in playback interruption to reverse display order of frames if saved in copy mode.
If I save the edit anyway and my TV plays this movie, it crashes. I have to turn it off and turn it back on.
What can I do to solve this problem?
Please note that I had this problem before and after the update, no difference
and that I am editing with MPEG TS videos
Thank you in advance

Hello,
Which version of Avidemux are you using?
Without knowing more about your files (codecs, extension, etc.), I would say that a video cuts on I-Frames and not elsewhere because this can lead to issues like desynchronization or others, as you can notice.
See the article on GOP on Wikipedia: https://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Group_of_pictures
And additionally on IDR Images: https://docs.aws.amazon.com/fr_fr/mediaconvert/latest/ug/gop-structure.html
In Images on Avidemux (version 2.8.0), it looks like this for example:

Best regards
PS: I just installed version 2.8.1 and apart from the arrangement of the buttons on the new interface, I don't see any major changes ;-)
PS 2: according to this topic in English, I haven't had any particular issues (no warning) with version 2.8.1 on the problematic file found here: https://avidemux.org/smif/index.php?topic=18800.0
If I understood correctly (English isn't my strong suit), the culprit would be your TV's player which might be using FFmpeg... but this is just a hypothesis. This is on the condition that on your PC you can read your file with at least one player without difficulty like MPC-HC because it seems that with VLC there would be problems: https://avidemux.org/smif/index.php?topic=19284.0
Hello
I just took a test and in the red circle that you drew on your screenshot, I see "I-TFF" written.
No matter where I move the cursor, it always says the same thing, except for one time where I saw "B-TFF".
So nothing changes, I always get the same dialog box that opens, as described in my first post.
When I cut and delete a sequence even with "I-TFF" written, I still get this dialog box opening.
However, if I modify the cutting sequence after the opening of this dialog box, it works, but it becomes cumbersome; do I need to convert the file beforehand?
It becomes restrictive.
On your PC, does the playback of the video file before and after cuts work without any issues?
Can you provide more information about your source file, such as the device that created it, plus the details provided by MediaInfo (view -> text) to get the codecs and other data for example?
.
Also, indicate what you really wish to do as another software (free or not) could possibly be used...
.
According to my research, the problem might come from IDR images that are different from the usual keyframes - I-Frames (I read that someone also had this problem with MKVToolnix HERE) and possibly also from unclosed GOPs... but I need to delve deeper into this to truly understand the issues.

I didn't really understand because it's in English, but you have the definition of what an IDR Image is (since your problem is that your file is made of non-IDR images) here: https://stackoverflow.com/questions/22626021/idr-and-non-idr-difference
Now, if you didn't have any trouble before the Avidemux update because of this kind of file, why don't you reinstall the version you were using before?
Thank you for responding to my request.
On my PC, I don't know if the movie plays well all the way through, but the Avidemux player works fine even during the cuts. What’s certain is that I don’t cut on the I-frame image, but since I don’t know which ones these good images are, it’s complicated.
The device that records the source files in MPG 2 ts is a Philips TNT decoder.
I'll look at the source file information tomorrow night.
What I want to do is remove the unwanted sequences like advertisements. The ideal would be to make a copy without re-encoding (MPEG 2 TS ---> MPEG 2 TS as all my players are compatible).
I have had this problem for about 2 months. The different versions of Avidemux make no difference.
The question I am asking is: -Why did it work before?
Now, if there is free software as user-friendly as Avidemux, I’m interested. ????
Hello
Here is the screenshot from Mediainfo:
No, I won't give you an email address on the forum or even in a private message, this is to preserve confidentiality and security.
As for JavaScript, if you have NoScript, you'll need to disable it; otherwise, try using another browser if you want...
Good evening and thank you for your quick response.
I have version 2.8.0, and for as long as I've been using Avidemux, I've never paid attention to where I cut the video, and I've never had a problem. Moreover, I had never noticed the detail you highlighted in the screenshot. I'll pay attention to it next time.
I'll make another little edit tomorrow to see if it works and I'll keep you updated.
Thank you and have a good evening.
Hello,
As far as I remember, VLC can play TS videos from the TV, but Avidemux doesn't want to cooperate (2.7.6, but since it works, why change): it struggles to read them and refuses to perform any operations on them.
I worked around the problem by converting these files to MKV on opening them using Simple Copy (keeping the audio and video codecs), after which I no longer have any issues as long as, as mentioned, I respect the I-frames before cutting.
If I remember correctly, the quick way to do this is to move the slider to the approximate cutting point, then finalize with the double arrows (keyframes), which will definitely cut at the correct spot.
Hello again
With Avidemux 2.7, there were no codec issues. I would load the TS file, and Avidemux would read it without any problems. I would do my editing, set everything to copy, and save it as MPEG 2.TS.
All my players can read this file. Except if I don't respect the cut points I. Frame, where my connected TV would crash directly.
Hello
I tried with VLC but the cursor isn't precise and I can't cut and remove the unwanted parts. I will continue to use Avidemux while respecting the flames. I'll see how it goes... Thank you
