Image jump issue with Pinnacle

Hello everyone,

I need your help to solve a problem related to my video editing software Pinnacle Studio 11.1

I am creating slideshows with fixed jpeg format images, 720X576, and my problem lies with the transitions and zooms that make my images jitter and shake. I have jumps just after the transitions, and the images flicker a lot when I apply the zoom. I have already uninstalled Studio 11 and then reinstalled it, but nothing works. I specify that I have a fairly powerful PC, Intel P4 3.4 GHz processor running Windows XP, Asus P5AD2E Deluxe motherboard, Asus XT 850 XT 256 MB graphics card, and 4 GB of memory.

I found how to reduce flickering in "add video effects" and then "pan and zoom" by checking "remove flickering," but it results in a very poor and blurry image quality. As for the jitter, I have tried everything without success.

For the image jumps, what is surprising is that in the editing phase, when I preview the work on the PC screen (in small + full screen), everything seems to work, but when I create an AVI or MPEG2 file, the jitters and flickers are definitely there. It's a disaster. Could there be a problem during the file conversion?

If you have any tips to help me, I thank you in advance.

There is at least one person who is satisfied with the studio; certainly, it is not the latest version, which requires more computing power and perhaps a dual-core. For presentations, it is contraindicated to use files with a resolution higher than that of your screen or television, so it is unnecessary to include 2 MB files thinking you are doing well. Another thing you can choose to finalize the film is a minimum custom compression of, for example, 7500 kb/s.
Also, regularly go to File, delete auxiliary folders and work on short projects of about thirty minutes and combine them at the end. The result should not be judged until the disc is burned and viewed on a TV. Also, remember to defragment before starting a project.
Lastly, as a final precaution, never rush to get the latest software released; wait for the bugs to be fixed by the first updates.
To those who understand.....
Best regards.

Hello,

I couldn't solve this problem and I actually changed my editing software. I switched to Video deluxe Magic 2008. It is much more stable and the transitions don't lag at all anymore.

Pinnacle has just released a new version that is supposedly more powerful (version 12). You can still try it, but I doubt it has improved anything. People complain a lot about Pinnacle, and I’m one of them. I even changed my graphics card by buying a very high-performance one for 500 euros, but that didn't solve the issues with frame skipping and transitions; Pinnacle works very poorly. Unless you want to make an amateur slideshow for family or friends... But if you want professional results, it's best to switch quickly.

Good luck.
