Disconnected screen on Linux Mint startup

Hello,
I installed Mint on an old Acer computer that I got to replace Windows Vista...
I installed the ISO image on a USB stick without any problems, plugged it into the computer and started it through the BIOS to access the installation. I reached the Mint boot screen with different options (start, start in compatibility mode...), I selected start but at that moment, after the Mint logo appeared, my screen says "HDMI cable: no signal".
I tried again by restarting, same issue. I finally managed to start by choosing compatibility mode. I got to the desktop, launched the installer, followed the steps without any problem, waited for the process to finish, restarted, removed the USB stick as instructed, and it restarted.
And now I have a computer that boots correctly into Mint, but after seeing the logo, the same problem occurs, disconnected screen...
I should mention that I'm not very familiar with Linux, so I don't see where the issue is. I checked the BIOS options to see if there was anything regarding the screen: results, nothing. I disabled fast startup to no avail.
That's where I am.
Thank you in advance for your help.

Hello,
Either the BIOS or the installation key is misconfigured, but then we wouldn't have anything at all.
Personally, I installed Linux Mint with ease, but on a Windows 10 virtual machine (where the display drivers are already managed).
We can therefore imagine, since there is HDMI, that it is a laptop with an external monitor and that, as long as Linux Mint is not configured, it only recognizes the main screen: if that's the case, I would disconnect the external monitor to start the installation on the internal screen of the PC.
Then, in System Settings-Display, we just need to reconfigure the output to the external screen that we've just reconnected. -
Okay, so I'm going to give some clarifications.
First, thank you for the response.
Next, this is a desktop unit, so there is no built-in screen. The first screen I tested on was a TV (in retrospect, it does seem a bit foolish), but after writing the message, I tried with another (normal) screen and an appropriate cable that goes from DVI from the tower to HDMI on the screen. It seems to be working fine since then.
But I tried to change the cable to HDMI - HDMI, and then it stopped working. Same result when I used the DVI - HDMI cable on the TV.
My hypothesis is therefore that the HDMI port on the tower and the TV are not being recognized.
