Hello.
I have a recent H.P ENVY 6000 printer on PC and Windows 10.
Recently, I've been having trouble with H.P Smart that refuses to start! So, I can't scan.
I'm encountering a lot of issues with these applications that are becoming increasingly complicated for very little in the end. H.P is overdoing it; I don't understand the goal since there seems to be a lot of dissatisfaction based on what I've seen in the forums.
I have worked around the problem by using the Windows Scanner, which is simple and works perfectly.
I am not satisfied with H.P.

Yes, my printer is set as default.
I can print.
I don't have access to HP Smart, so I can't scan from that application; the hourglass keeps turning endlessly.
I'm using the Windows scanner, which is quite sufficient.
I'm not satisfied with HP's applications; there's always something that doesn't work... too complex, I don't know what they're after... probably to sell something.
I would need to uninstall the application to start over, but I haven't found where it was installed... not in my programs... I'm looking.

indeed HP Smart is looking to market its products by offering HP cartridges by subscription,
but you can easily bypass this and the "application" works well as confirmed by epango

I was trying to uninstall the application to start over... I couldn't find the application through the usual route in the control panel... with your advice: properties/applications and features, I found it and uninstalled it.
I was able to reinstall, and it works perfectly... for how long? It's tough with HP.

When HP Smart is properly installed, you have a screen like this:
You can print or scan from the PC without any problems.
