Epson Scan cannot be started.

I had the same problem. It actually came from the scanner driver that was not installed.
I went to Add Hardware (Control Panel) and then I followed the indicated procedure. And it works.

I have a WF 2530 espon on Wi-Fi. I had a communication problem. I resolved the issue by configuring the scan. In the folder \Windows\twain_32\escndv there is a file named escfg.exe. You just need to run it to access the settings.

I had the same problem but on the Epson website, there are drivers available for free download. If you don't find what you need, you can write them an email (address on their website) and the next day you will have the link that solves your issue!

A big thank you to Guildor. Having an Epson Stylus CX3650, only the scanner function didn't work. I followed his method, even without the installation CD (which I lost). Everything works perfectly!

Hello, I have an Epson SX510W. I struggled to install it via Wi-Fi, but now it works. However, I've never managed to get it to scan. So my workaround is: Start menu, All Programs, Windows Fax and Scan. Click on it. Then, at the bottom left, there's Scan, click on it. Follow the instructions, do a test, at the top left there's New Scan, click on it and wait for your scan to complete automatically. Personally, I do it this way. If you want, you can create a shortcut, it's easier. Good luck.

To scan with an EPSON printer that is networked (WIFI or wired, it's the same), you need to use specific software: EPSON SCAN (note the originality of the chosen name).

If the printer is TWAIN compatible, no additional software is needed. However, you can still use EPSON SCAN.

Of course, it can be downloaded (if you don't have it) from the official EPSON FRANCE website

And of course, you must first configure it.

I have of course already used it with a PX800FW, a PX820FWD, a SX510W, a SX515W ... as well as with all the EPSON printers I have repaired, used, and sold equipped with refillable cartridges... EPSON SCAN has always worked well (that's what I wanted to get at).

I encountered the same problem... After a Windows update!! Grr...

I solved the problem by right-clicking on my shortcut to scan a document, I selected Properties then Compatibility and clicked on Run the compatibility troubleshooter. From there, you just have to wait and it works perfectly!
