Hello,
When inserting a footnote in Word, the space between the separator line and the text is way too large. Yet, there are no paragraph marks or space before in the paragraph specification.
I’ve tried everything… no success. Any ideas?
Thanks in advance.

Hi,
- Switch to draft mode (View / Draft)
- References / show notes
- In the Footnote window, choose note separator...
- For this paragraph with the line, check in Layout / paragraph tab that the spacing before is set to 0
and let us know
(Raymond, as I detail the response, I realize that I agree with your idea! ... :)))

Thank you very much!!
I did:
"- Switch to draft mode (View / Draft)
- References / show footnotes
- In the "Footnotes" window, choose "separator for notes"... "
And then I was able to remove some extra line breaks that were really bothering me!!
A BIG THANK YOU! -

And in Paragraph Format, spacing before is equal to 0?

Hello Raymond,
I was thinking about the spacing between the separator line and the text of the note. Which can only be caught in normal or draft mode. But since we don't have the version, I was too lazy to explain the two... I preferred to wait if the post was followed...
But you understood between the text of the page and the line...
To be continued...

Yes.. it is indeed about the space between the separator line and the top of the first footnote.
.. and the version is Word 2007.
There is sometimes a paragraph mark that cannot be eliminated (The message reads "invalid actions in footnote references"
Thank you again for your expert assistance. -
It works very well in a document with existing footnotes. However, what should I do for report templates? I don't see the option to do that in the styles.
