Hello,
Problem: Emule always tells me "Port mapping failed with UPnP, please configure port mapping manually!"
I'm fine with that, but what does it mean? I only have a laptop, nothing else. No network.
What should I do and how?
How can I configure the mapping manually? I can't figure out exactly what mapping is.
And why can't UPnP do anything?
Anyone who could explain this to me would be welcome.
Thank you a thousand times in advance.

Hello, I just arrived in the United States a few days ago and I'm connected to the internet, and I would like to connect to eMule and Kad. First of all, I have a low ID and it tells me to manually map the ports. What should I do? I'm totally lost. I'm connected via an Ethernet cable. Can you please help me?? Is everything different because I'm in the US?
Thank you in advance.
Thank you in advance.
Thank you Brupala for your quick response.
I did not understand "...what does the marmot do?"
To be honest, I am in Africa, and the network administrator may not have the necessary skills to help me, and this will just attract malicious attention while my only goal is to download some music and a few tools (which are inaccessible to us) to help me with my work: Nothing detrimental to the company.
I am indeed behind a PIX firewall and my address is a private address that has been dynamically NATed (each connection the firewall NATs the address 192.168.*.* into a public address taken from an available pool on the firewall: this address can change with each connection).
Thank you for your assistance.

in fact, we shouldn't encounter many marmots around you :-))
are you the one managing the PIX firewall?
if the answer is no,
you need to get in touch with those who do.
PS,
you can download plenty of things and even music legally without using the mule.

Hello a bit late but for everyone else who might come across this page, I have the solution to your problem. To avoid this message, you first need to go to your firewall, enable it, and uncheck the box that says "do not allow exceptions." Then, turn off your firewall and click apply or ok.
That's the first part, then go to your mule without connecting to a server, in the preferences tab, then connection. The thing is you need to change your TCP and UDP port values. Set them to 99999999999 and 9999999999 for each of them, then apply and the ports will be set automatically.
Restart mule, connect, and there you go, it's done.

Hello again, after presenting my solution that I thought was foolproof, I realized I was a bit mistaken. To fix this big problem, you actually need to disable the firewall and especially go to the preferences tab, then connection, and there try random numbers, and for me, it worked.
The only downside is that sooner or later, you'll have to repeat the operation because the router is not your friend, and for some unknown reason, it will block the client. There you go.

Whether it's a mobile or a fixed device, you need to be connected to a server that has sent you a box to access the internet (livebox or other) - for your eMule issue, nothing could be simpler: open eMule, go to Tools, go to First Use Wizard and continue until the end - (you will find the definition of mapping quite simply by searching on Google)

but you need to set your PC to a fixed IP address!!
for now, just test it with the automatic IP address provided by the lbx,
then you can set the same address as a fixed one.

You only have a PC with no network, what does that mean?
Are you connected through an analog modem or via a router modem like a Livebox?
If you have a USB modem, I don't know...
If it's a box, open your web browser, go to the configuration interface, then look for "Local server" or "NAT routing" and once you find it, create a rule for eMule like:
Allow access from the outside to the IP address of your computer between the eMule port and the eMule port. Protocol TCP/UDP
If that sounds like Chinese to you, then get some help :)
Good luck!

My phone connects to the internet via cable through the USB port.
Thanks for the response, but unfortunately it doesn’t solve my problem.
Is there anyone who has had the same issue with Emule?
SOS guys! And thanks for the future rescue, I hope...

Hello,
You have the answer in message n° 3 above that Brupala sent me.
That being said, you just need to choose a server from the list, right-click and "connect to this server"

Hello everyone, I have the exact same problem as described above. The one from Sakura.
When I start eMule, it says: Mapping failure..................
I use the Livebox and I have manually configured my ports.
Can someone help me?

Hello everyone,
I just installed eMule 0.48 on Vista and I have a mapping issue. My address is a private address in 192.168. and I am dynamically NATted behind a firewall at my company's network.
Should I understand that with such a configuration it is impossible for me to use eMule: that would be really too bad because I really need it.
Thank you for your help.

Hello,
Problem: Emule always tells me "Port mapping failed with UPnP, please configure mapping manually!"
I’m willing to, but what does that mean? I only have a laptop, nothing else. No network.
What should I do and how?
How can I manually configure the mapping? I can't figure out exactly what mapping is.
And why can't UPnP do anything?
Anyone who could explain this to me would be greatly appreciated.
A thousand thanks in advance.

First, in eMule, go to preferences and disable "automatic mapping with upnp".
Then, type in the IP address of your box, usually 192.168.1.1. Go to the firewall and add two new services (or lines, if you prefer).
In the first one:
set the source port to the TCP port of eMule, which you can find in preferences, then connection in eMule
and set the destination port to the UDP port of eMule (which you find in the same place as the TCP).
In the second one:
do the opposite, source port = UDP and destination port = TCP.
And there you go, you’ve just created two ports, one for incoming and one for outgoing, and if you don’t have a high ID, then you have a security problem (firewall, etc.).
