MS Office 365 activation license

Good evening everyone

I have an old Office license that has expired. I uninstalled Office and installed another version with a new license (email address and password). After activation with the new settings, the old license still appears. What should I do? Thanks for your help

    Hello,

    It isn’t obvious how an Office license can expire except for changes in the Microsoft account, volume licenses, or illicit ones.

    In any case, you must ensure that the previous version has been completely uninstalled with the Office uninstall tool.

    In the first scenario we will remove the old license from the Microsoft account; in the other two we will remove any possible "activator" software.

    In all cases we will verify with a VBScript that the old license has indeed been removed from the local computer.

      Thank you very much for your response. I will do what you suggested.

      The old version (as the new one) is authentic. At some point, the application was asking me for the Office 365 version. So I paid for this other license and uninstalled the old version. Then I installed the new version and activated it with the account (email and password). When I open Word, the old email address, Office account, appears and is linked to my Microsoft account.

        Weird... I also seem to recall “proposing” a 365 version, because I use 2019 which is no longer supported by Microsoft, which doesn’t please them, and on many new PCs a 365 version is installed as a trial but, of course, without any license other than temporary. That doesn't change the question: totally uninstall with the Office uninstall tool the excess version, verify with the VBS scripts that it doesn't leave a lingering license on the disk; if it's a terminated license tied to the Microsoft account, that's where you need to remove it. I also suppose (I don't have a Microsoft account) that if the known Microsoft address has been changed for this new account, you need to modify the credentials in the account options of any of the Office software. https://support.microsoft.com/fr-FR/Microsoft-365-Activation-Licensing/office-install/unlicensed-product-and-activation-errors-in-office
