Hello, I’m a game developer in my spare time and I just want to open a port on my machine.
I have done port forwarding on my computer's local IP and on the port in question, 7777, via my router's interface.

Since this is not working, I googled all this which led me to add rules on my Windows firewall, both inbound and outbound, allowing connections on my port for each TCP and UDP protocol.
And.... still nothing.

I looked for other alternatives like putting my PC in DMZ which is not recommended at all and anyway didn’t work either.

I also tried all of this with an active port listener on 7777, using TCP, UDP, or both at the same time, assigned a fixed IP to my computer, nothing works, the port remains closed.

I would like to reach out to those with more knowledge on this to see if I missed something, if my router is incapable, or if it’s something else.

Hi,
before going through the router, we need to test the functionality locally.
Have you done it?

Hello,

You have a 4G router, so not a regular ADSL subscription. What is the beginning of the internet IP you are using from the outside? Because the mobile operator (who is it?) might use CG-NAT where your router (not your LAN) has an internet address in 10, 172, or 192. And therefore the router could have a different address than the one seen by a website when you visit it, like: http://monip.org. After that, the operator can also be using IPv4 sharing, where each user only has access to a portion of the port range.

Hi JP,
indeed,
I hadn't looked into what this router was.
It's true that on a public mobile network, remote access to the local network doesn't exist.
To do that, you need a professional contract that can provide a real public IPv4 address to the router; otherwise, you end up behind a CGN that can't be crossed.
