account name mapping

Hello,

I'm sorry to disturb you about a problem that seems to be common, but I have sifted through everything I could find online and I have never found a sufficiently clear answer to solve my issue.

I have 4 networked computers and everything works fine. I run a network management program with one server and 3 clients. Everything was working perfectly until the update of the server version and the program; now, when accessing the server computer, a message appears saying, "the mapping between account names and security IDs has not been performed"...

But access is granted anyway???

How can I perform this mapping??

PS: on the 4 machines, 2 are running Windows XP Home Edition, 1 is XP Pro, and 1 is Vista Home Edition, but the same message appears on all 4.

Problem solved. Go to the control panel, Windows security system, allowed program to download from websites. The program loads without issue after a restart.

I think there are missing details in your problem.

Which of the PCs is the server?

The server and the program did not update at the same time, can you be more specific about the updates?

Is the program only installed on the server?

Okay, I'll try to do better. So the software is installed on each PC, and the database is on a PC that we call the server.
To enable them to communicate (besides the traditional network connection), the software is configured for multiple users, and to work together on the database, there is software called Sage Server, which must be installed on each workstation but can be configured either as a server or a client.
So I installed the server on the server workstation and the client on the others.

I don't know if I was clearer.

It's already better, but you didn't specify what the server's OS is? XP Pro?

And your story about the updates? Upgrade to SP3 on XP? Were the updates only for the server and client version of the program? Or just the server version?

So you see, I’m getting better. The updates have been made on all the stations. I have a Vista, a XP Pro 2 XP Home Edition SP3 (including the server station).  Is it better?

Hello,

I have exactly the same problem, I have Sage Accounting Line 30.

I had the single-user version with the accounting file on the server, so there could only be one user.

I bought the "Sage Server" to have 4 simultaneous users.

I installed everything properly, but I still get the message "the mapping between account names and security IDs has not been performed."

The software launches, but I do not have multi-user access available (basically, the Sage server is useless if it just displays an error message).

Strangely, now that I have paid, I have a lot more trouble reaching Sage...

My server is a Windows Server 2003.
I am not using Windows authentication (so there's not really any concept of a domain...) and I think the bug comes from there, i.e., the Sage server does not make the connection (mapping) between my session on my client workstation and the IDENTICAL account created on the server (same login & same password).

I think the Sage server is designed for a Windows NT network with Windows authentication, but for me, it's too complicated to set up and I don't have the skills or the time...

So while waiting for a call from Sage, I don't really have a solution to offer...

Good evening,

thank you for your response. Personally, with Windows XP, aside from the mapping message, everything works in multi-user mode when clicking OK.
I had the issue of lack of multi-user access, I reinstalled and now everything's fine; I think it was a little installation order problem.
I don't know if this can help you, but you never know.

I just found a solution on a forum that works for me:

For a client machine running XP Home, I renamed the file Cbasetcp.dll to Cbasetcp.old.

The error message disappeared and it seems to work... hoping that renaming this dll doesn't cause any issues with other applications...

Oops!!

Small correction, it's not really working...
Only the message regarding the mapping has disappeared,
but if a second user connects, they get the message: "the maximum number of users has been reached..."

Is this product really worth the price??
