Good evening,
Following the purchase of the Lumix FZ300, I just took some photos and connected the camera to my Windows 10 PC via USB.
However, I do not see any "LUMIX" folder (containing the photos I took) on my computer (next to my C: D: and DVD RW drive).
Yet when I plug in the USB cable, the camera responds to the connection...
Also, I do not want to install the CD that came with the camera kit!
Thank you for your help.

Hello
And, I do not wish to install the CD provided with the camera package!
In this case, you need to remove the memory card from the camera and read it directly with the computer.
Best regards

Zabi...
If there is software to transfer from the camera to the computer, it should appear as a drive in the list of devices just like drive C or D or DVD...
Do you really have nothing in Windows Explorer under the "Computer" section?.. if it still exists in W10!-
Hello,
That is indeed the problem because nothing appears as a new unit :o(
And I don't want to use external software to make it appear on Windows 10!
I am quite good with computers, but I don't understand this...- Indeed, this is not normal..
When you connect the USB cable, you should see detection by Windows and a window prompting you to choose what you want to do.. And in Windows Explorer, it should appear like this (Canon)
If you had installed the software, it should have started automatically at that moment.
If nothing happens, try another USB port or a different cable..
There are USB cables designed only for charging batteries and not all the wires are connected.. data doesn't transfer.

Hello,
Tested on 3 different computers and it's the same :(
Sniff!-
Here’s a bit of what I was explaining...
So, no miracle here. If you've also tested it with one or two other cables and if neither the manual nor Google mentions any trick to force MTP mode, you’ll have to use the brand's app.
Or simply remove the memory card and read it directly on a PC (with a card reader).

It's not possible to remove the memory card every time since it's positioned on a tripod permanently...
The compartment (memory card/battery) is poorly placed on this camera and prevents it from being opened while on the tripod!
That's why I wanted to use the USB cable to easily transfer all the photos.
So I think there must be a way to "force" the PC to recognize the "LUMIX" folder, like going through the command prompt ("cmd") to get it displayed on my PC's desktop :(-

Well, no, not to my knowledge, because it doesn't lie with the PC but with the device itself. (See what I've already written on this subject), it's not a TV show :-).
The fact that it "reacts" when you plug in a USB cable means nothing at all except that a purely electrical detection is taking place. -

Here is what can be found in the manual for your device (reading manuals can save valuable time).
I haven't looked through the French version but the English version says:

Thank you for these analyses!
I went through the French version but found no trace of what the English version says...
From what I understand, according to the English notice, we can indeed connect directly via USB cable to a PC!! -
OH mannnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn
That was it :o(
You just had to put the USB in the menu in PC Mode
A BIG shoutout to Madmike !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! -
Yes, sorry Madmyke ;o)
Thanks again!
