PC reboots after each wake-up from sleep

Hello, I previously asked for help with a similar issue. After the 21H1 update, my Asus laptop rebooted after waking from sleep when it had been triggered with the lid open. When I closed the lid to put it to sleep and reopened it to wake it up, everything was fine after your assistance.

I'm fed up with several malfunctions, so I completely reinstalled Windows from a bootable USB drive.

- The installation went smoothly
- Windows Update offers me several drivers because the Device Manager shows a yellow triangle. Everything is fine except for the smart connect, which remains yellow because it’s not needed in Windows 10, and I can’t find where to disable it in the BIOS.
- The BIOS is up to date

To my astonishment, as soon as I put it to sleep, it reboots. Closing the lid puts it to sleep and reopening it does not result in waking up.
- I reset the BIOS to default settings, and reopening the lid causes it to wake up

But systematically, waking up leads to a reboot

Please, what should I do to make everything "normal"? I feel like I'm going in circles, and it’s annoying to have to restart applications all the time and sometimes lose track of where I was in my writing, etc.
Thank you for your help.

    Hello,
The problem often arises from the PC going to sleep.
    Disable sleep/hibernate... Settings --> Power & Sleep
    Restart your PC.

Hello and thank you Pan33ra. I went to settings -- system -- power and sleep.

The hibernation option doesn't seem to appear. Some time ago, hibernation was working well like sleep mode.
I had disabled fast startup to see the effect but nothing changed.

Here is an image of what I have

      You need to disable everything...

What kind of PC do you use... Desktop or laptop?

You also need to change the settings here...

      Uncheck "Sleep".

Everything has been unchecked, rebooted, and there's no change. I imagine there's a problem in the part that is kept in memory because during wake-up, I see that it behaves normally, but then I notice a change in attitude as if it's missing something, and it takes a boot sequence. Thank you for the help.

      Hello,
You mention... "...during wake-up events I see that he behaves normally then I see a change in attitude as if he couldn't find something and he initiates a boot sequence."
      What is "a boot sequence"?

hello everyone and it is true Panth33ra. yes, things may seem unclear but in front of the screen, you can see the difference. when waking up from sleep, the screen is normally black and a small circle forms, spinning dots appear and then very quickly the welcome image appears blurry and so on. when there is a reboot sequence, the small spinning dots appear, then the screen goes completely black and again small spinning dots show up but lower on the screen, then the screen goes black again then spinning dots appear at the same height as the first ones and then the blurry image appears followed by the welcome screen.
this is what I call a reboot sequence.

        Hello,
Disable sleep/hibernate mode (in the Power menu) to avoid this repeated startup. Restart your PC and let me know again if you still have this issue.

Thank you, but I'm a bit lost because I don't see "sleep/hibernate" anywhere. I'm attaching images of what I have on my screen

and in the start menu, I only have shut down and restart.

Could you please specify the steps to follow, thank you for your availability.

In your first screenshot, I only see this word... sleep. Click on each of the 3 "Battery" and "Power" windows. You have a dropdown menu to modify them.
For "On power," you can disable sleep for all 3 modules especially if you're only using it for that purpose like mine.

Good evening, I'm sorry I don't understand what I need to do.

I only intervene on the power section.
I just changed the power section - when I press the power button, the PC goes to sleep; for the other two options, I set it to: do nothing.
Here is the image of what it looks like

    Thank you for your help.

      Hello,
...and for the Power button, you also need to apply the "Do nothing" formula.
Restart your PC and let us know the result.

Hello Path33ra and others. So I’m making the change on the power button, I turn off the PC. I turn it back on, I open applications, I close the lid of the laptop. I open the lid and as before I see the ASUS logo and points spinning, then the screen goes black, the spinning points disappear and reappear lower down and less brightly, then a blurry image with the bright points rising, then no application reappears.
    So no change...
What should I do next? Thanks for the help.

Proceed in the same way for "on battery"... Do nothing.

P.S.: On my Asus PC, I have completely disabled "on battery" and "on AC". When I close the lid, the PC continues to function. Upon reopening, the screen is still active.

Here, I have put everything into doing nothing, and as it should be, the laptop does not turn off, does not go into sleep mode, but that is not the goal. The point is to find what I had, namely a sleep mode when I closed the lid, and after a significant period of inactivity, it would go into hibernation, and when I opened the lid, everything would reappear... just like before closing the lid.

Asus had developed a power management tool, I can no longer find it and it's not on the Asus website, this little software unless they have abandoned it.

You indicate... "the point is to find back what I knew, a sleep mode when I closed the lid and after a significant period of inactivity it would go into hibernation..."
Reactivate all the "sleep" commands but you will be back to square one.

Hello, I'm back after a long absence; I wanted to make sure I no longer need the PC for testing purposes.

    - The PC was delivered with an HDD that I replaced over a year ago with an SSD. I had made a system transfer to the SSD. At the end of July 2021, I put the HDD back in the PC to create a system image on a backup disk.

    - I copied the disk image onto the SSD, so the SSD was formatted and the system was installed. I performed a Windows update directly using the executable instead of going through Windows Update to avoid a series of updates --> the problem is still there; the PC doesn't seem to retain a memory image because it reboots.

    - I repeated the image copying operation. I notice that the PC does not function as it did back then, especially regarding sleep mode; it reboots when exiting sleep mode.

    - I did a complete installation of Windows 10 21H1 directly from a bootable USB drive without using the old system image; it reboots when exiting sleep mode.

    - I restored the BIOS to default values, but nothing changes; it still reboots when exiting sleep mode.

I deduce that there is a hardware problem. Could this be due to the fact that I removed a small 28GB SSD (the PC came with Windows 8 when purchased) that may have had a memory backup function and other features when in sleep mode?

I welcome any ideas to help me resolve this annoying issue. Thank you for your assistance.

Good evening everyone, at the same time I opened a post on this forum, I opened one on the ASUS forum. The proposed solutions were identical. Yesterday, alexandre01 suggested intervening on the fastboot, etc., but also reflashing the BIOS. I tried various solutions starting from an old system image, resetting, and a "fresh" installation: nothing, no change, and as soon as I reflashed the BIOS, everything fell back into place. It seems that MS takes it upon themselves to modify BIOS settings. Thus, flashing resolved the issue.
If this can help someone. On the ASUS computer, if flashing is refused because this BIOS is considered old, you need to type "risky" (without quotes) and flashing becomes possible.
Thank you for the help and availability.
