Hello,

I would like to present my problem to you.
I have a loose connection on the power cable of my fiber converter MDCONU3A, which causes my Freebox Revolution to restart frequently.

I ordered a new box, which unfortunately gets stuck at step 3 of the Freebox startup.

Does anyone have any idea what the problem could be? Is it possible that a hardware address contained in the box is registered on Free's servers, preventing my new box from authenticating?

Thank you in advance for your suggestions.

Stéphane

Thank you Brupala for your reply.
I suspected it was a problem of this kind since I am stuck at step 3.
I didn't order the box from Free since it was not offered in the online store. These boxes can be easily found on the internet, and I thought that replacing it would be much simpler.
So I need to call support, who doesn't have control over this type of modification and will make me restart the Freebox several times before escalating the issue. I have the feeling that several weeks of hassle await me...

You make them change the ONT, that's all.
It's their equipment.

I called, a technician needs to come with a new referenced box. The appointment is made.
It's still a shame to find this equipment online when we ultimately can't do anything with it because it's not registered with the operator...
Thanks for your help anyway!

Is it sold new or used?
The SFP, I'm fine with that, but the ONT is still very specific to Free.

Hi,
in principle, yes the ONT (or ONU, it's the same) is identified in the OLT Free by its serial number
If Free sent it to you, they should configure it themselves, the question shouldn't even arise.
All of this is their kitchen and their equipment, it's up to them to make sure it works.
