ALCATEL 370 voice duo, beep problem

Hello,
For the past two days, I've been having a recurring and very annoying problem: instead of 00 (for example) displayed on the base, I see -- flashing and then turning off, followed by -- each time accompanied by a very loud beep. The screen of the handset on the base indicates OUT OF RANGE.
If I remove the handset from the base and place it next to it, everything returns to normal.
The problem occurs intermittently.
What could be causing this and what should I do?
How can I at least disable the beeps that sometimes wake me up at night?
Thank you for your help.
Best regards.

Configuration: Windows / Firefox 84.0

    Hello.
For the blinking display with - -
the manual on page 12 states:
     - - - - blinks: the time has not been set, no new message has been received

As for the beep, it presumably follows the Out of range displayed by the handset...
    We can suppress this beep
excerpt from the manual pages 25/26:
But this "Out of range" as well as the loss of time is abnormal... unless there is a power outage...
Check that the power outlets are properly connected.

In the handset, there are indeed rechargeable batteries installed... and not common batteries that could overload the base... see exploded (do not put batteries on a charger, there is a danger)

    Thank you Baladur, but...
When everything returns to normal (the combined removed from the base), the time is normal.
As for disabling the alert beeps, I did try but it doesn't work. I had downloaded this manual, hoping to find a solution there.
    No power outages to report.

      Is this device old?
Are there indeed rechargeable batteries installed in the handset?

Certainly, it is not new; it was purchased in 2015. It has never caused me any trouble.
    The rechargeable batteries are original.
How can I explain that simply removing the handset from the base makes everything work normally again?
I tried swapping the two handsets, but it didn't make any difference.
    Thank you again.

I have no rational explanation other than a power supply issue with the base (a beep is emitted when the handset reconnects to the power, just like when it's placed on the base)
      So:
      - poor contact in the socket to which the base's power supply is connected.
      - poor contact at the power cable under the base (not fully inserted).
      - handset batteries that are "drawing" too much current from the base (batteries too old?).
      - defect in the base when it needs to provide power to charge.

Hello Baladur 13, and thank you for your responses.
I tried plugging the base into another socket, it doesn't make any difference.
The power cable is securely plugged in.
Batteries too old? Possible, but on both handsets, we can see that they are fully charged.
Probably a malfunction of the base, due to the phone's age?
Now this phenomenon occurs systematically, not just intermittently like yesterday, when I put the handset back on the base.
Best regards and have a nice day.

      Sorry...
It might be worth at least trying to change the batteries on a handset.

      Note...
If by any chance you were forced to replace the phone...
Know that your handsets can be registered on a new base without it being of the same model or even brand as the handsets.
Your old handsets can then serve as additional handsets to a new base.
