my question but I don’t know if I’m in the right place probably not!

my question is that in netpliwz there is logically a small box to insert a cross

but this box is no longer there in the latest generation of Windows 10 how do I get it back? thank you in advance to all for your help.
I asked a question this morning regarding the omlf virus and I haven’t received any answers and right now I have important documents and photos so what should I do? thank you best regards.

To the user who gave me the little software that goes directly to the database of registry = I think it's the right solution. Obviously, I can't certify that it's the ultimate solution since I had formatted the HDD entirely. In any case, it works, AND A BIG THANK YOU, Best regards

Oh really, a moderator deleted the conversation because I didn't respond in the right place. Now I've just done it, dear moderator, you should have told me to pay attention and respond here. I don't know your system well enough, excuse me but I'm almost 75 years old. Please let me respond to the problem I have on Netpliwz
voila now the PC is stuck. Every time I ask something, it asks for a name, and if I do that, the PC shuts down. So now what do I do, "should I format it?"

The conversation should of course continue on this post from where a Moderator reported it.
Well, it's not a big deal anyway.
You must have received a link in your inbox in response (mine).
From this link, you can reply or in the W10 section of the forum.

I don't know what you did to block the PC.
The given link is to restore the Netpliwz box and remove the password if that was your wish.
If the box returned, you may have mistaken the user account if you made any changes afterward or deleted an account.

Catch you later

In principle no, but it's impossible to access the database of register; a blue square comes up in the middle of the screen and in the corner on the right it says NAME. I can click on it and voilà, nothing happens, so it's a dead end.

Oh, I did what was written and Netpliwz is asking me for a name, yes, from accord, but where? If I click on name, everything turns off voila. No more currently, I have access to the messaging, but if I try to go to "example" in the database of registry, then boom, everything blocks. So I'm at the point of formatting. Before, Netpliwz had this box, it was super, now it's just ..........

So the disappeared Netpliwz box has returned, that was the purpose of your statement.

After that ==► netplwiz: create, delete user accounts
And what did you want to do as an action?
- Delete/add an account?
- Delete the password?

If I try to go to "example" in the registry then boom
You must have another issue ==► Repair system files with SFC and DISM

What version of Windows 10 do you have?
To find out, in the search box on the taskbar type --► winver
Or with the keyboard keys Windows + R
Or right-click on the Start button then on the line --► Run

In case before formatting ==► How to reset the PC in Windows 10

But also Usage charter of CommentÇaMarche
It's always nice to start, for example, with a little hello.
I forgive you as you don't know the forum, but also given your age.

Best regards.

Okay good, I managed to get the PC running again, but tomorrow morning I will follow the cmd you posted there, I am completely exhausted
Just now Logitech tried to install the webcam and immediately the PC asked for the NAME and the software was refused
Well goodnight if possible see you tomorrow once again thank you.

Rest well.
I wonder if you have deleted or modified your user/Administrator account with netplwiz.
If that’s the case, you will have a dialog box to authorize every time and probably enter your username.
But since we don't know what you are doing with the netplwiz command...
Good evening.

I haven't done anything, indeed this dialog box appears every time and nothing happens. It seems to me that I am in ADMINISTRATOR mode on this netpliwz, but I don't remember, I don't think I have touched that.

Thank you for trying, but no, it doesn't work. I need to review the Hello part.
I'll keep the shortcut and will do my best. Thanks once again. Best regards.

Hi Billou, wishing you a happy new year.
Possibly for the pin code with the login option especially when the PC is new Microsoft forces you to create a pin code and that’s not good because you get lost between password and pin code. I believe it’s planned that Microsoft is going to revise this (rumors for now).

@Lafléche

this dialog box appears every time and nothing happens

Hello, post a screenshot of netpliwz
--► screenshot
--► post an image

I asked a question this morning about the omlf virus and I haven't received any response

=►The follow-up

I don’t quite understand "NEW DESKTOP PC JUST UNDER 2 WEEKS" and "so I bought a new HDD"
If you could tell us a bit more please.

If you wish ==► convert a Microsoft account to a local account
It’s a bit less restrictive.

A+

Oh yes, it's a big desktop PC that I built with a specialist, so far so good to say that the PC has an NVIDIA 2070 card and a 4 TB hard drive, normally it's guaranteed for 2 years...
But there's no warranty for viruses,
So I bought another hard drive to try to eradicate this OMLF virus but then I wanted to use that famous NETPLWIZ and here comes the catastrophe. The PC got stuck, I managed to unlock it by resetting a code on Hello instead of my personal code, I even modified this code but nothing works, NETPLWIZ doesn't function.
If you have any other questions, don't hesitate, I'm a pacifist and I always do what I'm asked, especially towards this good site and all those who respond to me.
Thank you all. Best regards.

-► card N Viviane 2070
Nvidia GeForce RTX 2070.

Ideas:
If the W10 installation is recent and you don't have much to lose, you have some options.
- Create a new user
- Reset without losing documents.
- Reinstall W10 (without a password); there are tutorials, like disconnecting from the internet, for example, and installing a local account directly where you will be the Administrator.

Creating a new user to check would be a simple solution to start with.

Back up your data just in case, and your favorites.

nothing to do Netplwz doesn't work

It would be easier with a screenshot or tell us where it fails.
At what step?

In any case, you're making it hard on yourself with NETPLWIZ or vice versa.

By the way, please let us know your version of W10.

See you later!

Health for everyone, well what a bummer! I'm starting off with a dental abscess without even overdoing it, go figure :-)

re

1 tooth that's acting up?

You need to treat the abscess before seeing the dentist, or consult them to get an anti-inflammatory

Take care :)

Hello,

You reinstalled W10 with a new account and new password, which solved the issue with the Netpliwz box.

I need to find an antitrust that removes OMLF

According to your post in virus/security, that damned OMFL virus (.omfl file) encrypts files sometimes disguised as a legitimate tool and demands a ransom that of course should not be paid.

We should check if the ransom message appears and if your files are encrypted again after some time of using the PC.
And continue disinfecting with, for example, FRST, whose reports you should post.
Billmaxime can also decrypt them, but ideally, we should continue in the virus/security forum to avoid creating chaos with 2 simultaneous posts.

For my part, I can only advise you that if the ransom comes back, to run Malwarebytes and delete the quarantine, then uninstall the software because it consumes memory for nothing, Windows Defender, the default antivirus, will take over.
And finally, reset the Hosts file with RstHOSTS

See you later for comments.

Hello pistouri and laflèche,

I confirm the advice to continue on the other topic regarding the OMFL infection, so here:

Hi Xileh,

Lafléche is not very familiar with the forum as he himself says and has opened 2 posts for 2 different questions.
Indeed, the ideal is to continue on the Virus forum despite a hint in his statement --►
I asked a question this morning regarding the omlf virus and I didn't get any response and right now

We can consider the post resolved here.

Yes, I noticed that the forum features seemed to confuse Lafleche

For reference, he will find all the useful tips below

And indeed, he can mark the current topic as "resolved":

Hi everyone, well, I just read the First newspaper, yes it's quite complicated but I'm still going to give it a try, then I'll keep you updated. For your information, the hard drive will not be installed directly on the PC, it will be placed on a support connected to the PC. I will take a photo of this device and you can tell me if it’s good or not, hoping that the infected hard drive doesn't spread rapidly on the PC, otherwise it will be impossible to do anything. This afternoon, I'm not at home, I'm going to the police station to file a report because we have had about fifteen burglaries in the area and I’m the only one who has seen several vehicles, so I need to take my surveillance camera to decrypt them.
Well, finally that has nothing to do with our topic.
Thank you, I appreciate the seriousness of your entire team, and I mention it to everyone I know. Thank you so much, talk to you later!

Put the FRST reports on your other post ==► Omlf to continue the disinfection.

Tough luck for you, after the Netpliwz case, it's the Gendarmerie case.
Good luck with the police, it reminds me of an episode of Colombo :-)
I'm marking your topic as resolved.

Good luck and have a nice day.

good there I've really tried everything but I don't know how to handle the FIRST folder, there are hundreds of files in it and since my infected HDD is still running on my PC, I'm afraid it might transmit omlf onto it, I really don't know what to do, sorry. Now I have an [https://www.commentcamarche.net/telecharger/bureautique/18961-rdv/ important appointment I'll get back to it tomorrow morning or maybe late tonight.
thank you @+
if I could send just one infected file, it would be wallpaper photos absolutely worthless, give me a link so you can see how it's titled..

Ask security Contributor MisteryBean in the post Omlf.
He will take care of you to help you as much as possible, even if it’s tough, he will do his best.
Fingers crossed for you.

HELLO EVERYONE, so here since I couldn’t make the suggestions you sent me and I sincerely thank you for that, I have completely formatted everything from scratch so it’s done and since there was a new attack with sqlm it was impossible to do anything.
so I mark it as resolved. I wish you an excellent year. Thank you.
