Hello,
I have been using Thunderbird for many years. This is the first time I am faced with this situation. When I open the software, I see a window with a white background and the text appears in black. However, when I want to compose a message, the window that opens has a black background, and the text is in white. The options clearly specify that the window should have a white background and the text should be in black. Can someone help me understand what is going on?
There is another computer at home where the problem does not occur.
Configuration: Windows / Firefox 82.0

Hello @C59G,
It could be a writing color setting issue:
Tools / Options / Composition / HTML Style
Or it could be a theme problem: You are using a dark theme.
See the new features of Thunderbird:
https://support.mozilla.org/fr/kb/nouveautes-thunderbird-78#w_personnaliser-les-couleurs-des-icones-des-dossiers-de-courrier
To change the theme, Tools / Add-ons / Themes / Dark / Disable.

Thank you for the workaround
I returned to the initial theme. But there's something unclear: the dark theme wasn't activated! After activating the dark and then the light theme, I got the light background back.

Actually, I had the same problem for a long time until I changed the Windows theme I was using, which was high contrast - I was able to modify it and then choose a theme for Thunderbird, but I struggled quite a bit before realizing that in Accessibility > High Contrast Themes, we could affect Thunderbird!
