Hello

I would like to change my internet provider's IP address under Windows 7, this to run a program that only runs on different IP addresses. Possible?

    Currently I have 77.199.22.125

    By the local IP address: 192.168.1.1

      Hello,

      Show on the internet your Public address (77.XXX.XX.XXX) is a very bad thing.

      That’s equivalent to saying "Welcome to hackers, enjoy it!"

      The IP address 192.168.1.1 lets you connect to your Internet Box.

      The IP address provided by your ISP is a Dynamic address that can change at each connection, every week.

      The one and only thing to do if your program requests a different public IP connection is:

      - Restart your MODEM/Router; sometimes this changes the IP address depending on the provider.

      - Use a VPN or a Proxy

      - Request a Dynamic IP if your ISP has given you a Static IP.<

      and Windows cannot change the provider's IP.

      Thank you for your very interesting explanations. Using a VPN will not change the fixed IP address that comes from my internet box, because for the program in question it is installed and I do not go through a website to make it work. It concerns sharing my internet connection for which I am paid. And so, from one PC to another, it is the same box and therefore the same IP address. I understand well that Windows cannot modify it.

    Hi,

    Strange story...

    Quentin, if I understand you correctly, you want to share your connection with people, oddly through your PC, not via your modem or a router behind your modem, you don’t want to say which software is giving you trouble, but that’s not a big deal, if that’s indeed what you want to do.

    In short, you want to share your connection, but not your IPv4 address. I remind you that with IPv6 there are different addresses for everyone, and with IPv4 ISPs often place their customers behind CGN so the same IPv4 for several of their customers.

    Finally, apart from a VPN (remote NAT, rather) you won’t change your public IPv4 address.

    And there you have it, there you go...

    But oh dear, how annoying the line spacing is!!

      Hello Brupala!

      I rent out my bandwidth, using the software "Honeygain." I have two PCs on the same internet box, the second one won't generate revenue because it's the same IP address. Hence my question about changing my IP, do you understand better now? I'm looking into it; if it's not possible with a VPN, I think, because I don't go through a website, but through the program directly, well, I suppose I'm not a network expert like you.       Hi,

      I roughly looked at your weird software, essentially you turn your PC into a proxy for external connections, which I have trouble seeing the point of.

      If you want to install it on another PC, a remote NAT client (VPN) would indeed need to be active permanently on that second PC and that PC would have to stay online continuously, or even another connection.

      Uninstall the program, install the VPN, reinstall it and run it; it will connect with another IP address as a result. To be seen.
