Unable to connect my Xiaomi Red Note to my PC

Hello,

I need to offload my photos because my phone has very little storage space left and I'm afraid of a permanent blockage.

When I connect my Xiaomi Red Note 5 to my PC via the original USB cable, it's not recognized by the PC. The same happens when I change the cable and try a different USB port.

When I go to the phone settings, under "Connection and sharing," the "Via USB" line is grayed out along with the indication "USB not connected." I can't take any action on the toggle button to the right of these indications; it doesn't respond to tapping or sliding, it's inactive.

How can I reactivate this?

Note: When I plug in my USB cable, the phone systematically goes into charging mode and I have no option for transfer, neither at the top of the screen nor when I pull down the notification menu; file transfer doesn't exist.

Is there an app to install on the phone that would allow me to transfer photos to my PC more easily?

A big thank you to anyone who can help me. Have a great day everyone.

Configuration: Windows / Chrome 86.0.4240.183

    Hello,
There is not only the cable for transferring photos, you also have the option of using Bluetooth and Wi-Fi! When it comes to applications, you have plenty of choices... https://play.google.com/store/search?q=transfertdephotosverspc&hl=fr
Personally, I use "File Commander" (Premium version) for smartphone and tablet to PC. It works both ways.
